Im a bit confused. Maham had made a big issue when Jodha accidentally sprinkled holi colours on her white outfit. That time it was told to us that it was against her custom.
What I understood was that, she isnt supposed to wear any sorts of colours apart from white.

But then yesterday, they showed Maham with a brown shawl 🤓 Ye kya hai bhai?

Someone please enlighten me

Its more to do with her participating in a Hindu festival which she isn't supposed to do. It's not exactly a color issue.

Yep, Maham is a rabid widow!!

Muslim widows don't have the restrictions that a Hindu widow does. It wasn't the fact that Jodha had painted her orange. It had to do with the fact that Jodha was celebrating Holi & that colour, of a Himdu festival, was on her.

And am sure she considers her life far more important than bother about wearing a brown shawl. 😆

There is another reason why it was an issue..I posted this on another thread:

\Some Muslims (liken, in the gulf )are touchy about such issues..Not all of them. My friends landlord who was an Arab wouldn't let them put diyas on diwali so its understandable.
In Saudi, you cannot even hold a religios meeting inside your home..and show stuff that is associated with other religion publicly.. a hindu temple or a Church in Oman cannot look like one from outside.. Only inside..

The Mughals were modern in their thinking and celebrated hindu festivals because akbar had many hindu wives but it was behind closed doors.. there were conservatives in his court who did not approve of Akbar doing so

There was a reason why Jalal specifically told her that : wo kissi ki takleef ka sabab nahi banna chahiye

and this was a time where religion reigned supreme all over the world. The Queen of England burning people just for being catholics
