And Jodha will go back to Amer anyway when she does expect Salim as per her customs. So no chance of Maham through evil making Jodha drop her foetus. 😡

Plus she will be out of the scene I feel by then.

Jalal isn't as oblivious to her as he comes across. The Emperor couldn't afford to be anyway. He knows much more of what he lets on. Even with a Ruqaiyya, he knows exactly how she will feel & how she does feel when it comes to Jodha. So he keeps testing her. Somewhere Ruq's reactions annoy him a lot & also, amuse him.

I also felt the scene between Jalaal and Ruq where he talked about being in love with Jodha was unnecessary on Jalaal's part. His expression was so serious and resigned as if he was weary. I would not say he is in love but realizes that something is different. As I mentioned in another post, it was almost as if he wanted to test the feeling of the words. I really like your point where Jalaal is seeing that his relationship with Ruq is changing. He is testing her and at the same time making her desensitized if his feelings do go that way. Could be he realizes the potential of progression of his feelings exsists. Your post really made things clearer for me and now I will watch the episode again with it in mind.

I hope that is so, that he has already fallen for her and its just a matter of time before he realises it, but I am not sure at this point. But what I am sure of is that he is interested in exploring further his relationship with Jodha. Once he has decided that Jodha belongs in Agra as a begum, he has to begin to find some connect with her, but how that would square with Ruq seems to be Jalal's concern.

I feel sorry for Ruku now...Its clear that she trusts Jalal completely and has no inkling what is going inside of his dimaag...How lonely she is going to be , especially after MA's death...

Ela, one thing I feel sure about Ruq. She seems to be an extremely resilient girl, and a very practical one also. Remember how when she couldn't go to Ajmer, she quickly bounced back from that disappointment by saying "Let Jodha go, after all its for Jalal's safety and the sunrays did fall on Jodha and she must be better blessed".

I think when it comes to crunch time, and Jalal and Jodha do become a couple, Ruq herself will be among the quickest to recover from the disappointment. However, in the interveneing time, when jalal and Jodha are getting into things deeper and deeper, this maham may start instigating Ruq to behave unnaturally (unnaturally for her) and there Ruq may make mistakes that alienate Jalal faster.
