Jodha may have never been innocent like they have shown.. she may have been cunning too..

she had to.otherwise there is no way she would have survived in that harem...if possible read Indu Sudershan's Twentieth Wife...harem was in itself a political arena for everything from conspiracies to murders ...all women vying for the attention of one man..it is bound to be lethal 😆 and imagine waiting for that man all her life ..that at some point he may actually relaize your existence😕..shudders

I have heard about the book. but its all fictional na..

In real life also you can't see two women fighting for one man.. I feel that Bhairamal and co. had deliberately chosen to give her because they would have known she would have not only survived but Akbar would have given her importance.. she would have been beautiful, intelligent and cunning imo..

i read in a book jodha was only wife to enter akbar's palace(he had his own palace) more than once he had so many woman in his life to keep him company
and of course harem politics mariam uz zamani must have been very shrewd and manipulative to survive in that deadly place
he had 300 wives and 5000 cocubbines and they would try their best to attract the emperor and try their best to kill the other woman's child from emperor because that will make her privileged. So Jodha's palace had rajput men gaurding it all the time(yes men guarded it). Jehangir mentions that in his palace rajput men guarded and he felt they were invisible because he was used to them from childhood.
i read if some woman dies they would not have funeral or mourning and woman would be shifted to the mourge and from there to burial.
Only important queens, mother, fav aunts and fav sisters had proper greiving and funeral ceremony in agra fort all others no one bothered when they died or to grieve for them 😕 indeed many would know after funeral that person died unless he was very important.

No dear, she was not the last wife... infact he married that woman within few months or a year after getting married to Princess of Amer.😉

She was perhaps the fourth or fifth wife.

There is detailed information in Vincent Smith's book as always in book by H.C. Burke.

After this marriage happened, attempt of Akbar's assassination was made. A person shot an arrow which wounded his shoulder. Investigation was ruled out by Akbar himself. Historians opine that most probably, the nobles were so aghast with this entire incident that they plotted to kill Akbar and since Akbar had an idea of the reason behind the attack, he did not want to have any investigation.

AFter that, Akbar never made any such attempt of getting wives of other people. 😆

In fact he married most of them after marrying Princess of Amer.😉 But as you know, many of them, specially marriage with the Rajput women, were for political alliance.
