Friends, I am thrilled to bits to read Jyoti's encapsulation of the week.👏👏👏👏👏 As usual she's done a fab round up of all the key points that come to mind! I can't think of anything she's missed out, and I totally agree with her that it was a really memorable week, and we viewers have got everything to cheer about - the high TRPs continue, the story is moving at a crisp pace towards an epic love, even the scenes of the growing love between Jodha and Jalal have been so beautifully picturised ... I have no complaints at the end of the week gone by!
For my analysis, I just wanted to enjoy tracing the slow and steady love growing between Jodha and Jalal as I saw it unfold and to pick up what I thought of as the inflexion points when the story took some interesting turnns towards love.
(One more thing, folks. I have throughout written this post today as if they are already in love, even though I know they are getting there and not quite in a state to accept that they have these feelings. That is because I am now writing this post as a viewere who sees them better than they are seeing themselves!)
So here are top eight moments of the Jalal-Jodha growing love ...
1. Jodha's convos with her antaratmas
In every love story, there is a moment when the old gives way to the new. And it has to happen for both the protagonists of the love story. Jodha started the ball rolling when her two antaratmas descended upon her in the moment of conflict - after her mother had closed the doors on her returning to Amer, and after she herself felt it to unacceptable to stay on in Agra with Jalal. The age-old trick of using the two antaratmas to show the two conflcited sides of Jodha was used by the Creatives, but it was well directed, I thought, even if it was a cliched idea. It was indeed a big moment in this story, because the antaratma was none other than a part of Jodha herself, and the scene was tantamount to Jodha herself seeing how wrongly-founded her notions of her fight with Jalal were. She came face to face with the truth that she was the "first offender" of this antagonistic relationship, and Jalal was merely reacting to her hatred of him! At that moment she may not have accepted this inside truth and she went ahead with the suicide attempt, but I am sure it has later has worked upon her subtly. How can she escape something she already clearly feels inside?
2. The waterfront scene: Jalal betrayed his innermost angst!
Last week, I thought Jalal got to his inflexion point when his soul got slightly bared to all of us via his outburst of anger and frustration. It was the scene of the suicide-attempt by Jodha and after saving her from the water, and after hearing her say "Why did you save me, why are you controliing whether I live or die?" Jalal burst his banks. He let fly a volley of words at her that eventually must have been like some personal catharsis. Whew! He needed to blow all that off his chest. I thought that was a big moment driving Jalal towards love, because unless you empty the well of old stale water, fresh water cannot spring into it! He was emptying his heart of old feelings.
3. Jalal to Maham: "Jodha and I are like two lonely souls on the same ship"
This scene was beautifully constructed when Jalal articulated for the first time his empathy with Jodha. How beautifully the story is unfolding. She gets her realisation from the antaratma, then he gets his catharsis from the waterfront scene, and then he gets to the point where he is able to put into words his understanding of her position since it is exactly like his own situation. Both are beset by a deep loneliness, and when Jalal realises this point he also shows us that he has a heart, otherwise how can a sentiment such as this be known or appreciated by him? In answer to Maham's query about where Jodha was and why he had saved Jodha , he said the words that every viewer has always wanted to hear from the hero of any serial: "Today, for the first time, I have realised that both Jodha and me, we are like two lonely people sailing on the same boat." If I had to choose a point, many years later, when the serial of Jodha-Akbar turned the feelings of their hate into love, I would surely pick this as the moment of moments when I heard "love" in its most beautiful form being articulated! It was a lovely, lovely scene.
4. The pre-dargah realisations (snake, fakir)
This was part of the latest episode yesterday when two scenes followed, one after the other, when Jodha's eyes were opened to a new view of Jalal. One was the fun-loving and joking Jalal, the light-hearted guy who could laugh off Jodha's protestations about his jumping on her bed with a casual dialogue at a hapless snake. He tells the snake what his fate would have been if he had disturbed Jodha, because even the great Jalal was not allowed near Jodha. And when Jodha says thanks for saving her from the snake, he says the snake needs to thank him for saving him from Jodha! He also tells her "It was a joke, so you can laugh now". She returned the sweetest and smallest of smiles at him to which he responded.
5. The dargah scene was one of the best scenes I have seen so far
The beauty of this scene was not just because of the way it furthered their love story but because the religious part of the ceremony itself was very moving. When the pirs congratulated Jalal for arriving with an ordinary pagri as an ordinary man, I could almost see Jodha's pride in Jalal swell a bit! Then came the moments around the tomb, which were so utterly charming. She starts praying "like a Hindu, head bowed, hands together" when he tells her "You have to keep your head up and pray, but since you are a Hindu you can forgo it if you want", to which she then launches into such lavish praise of the Ajmer Sharif and its hoary traditions and popular appeal that the pirs are proud of her - and more than that Jalal is silently proud of her. It was exceptionally lovely when she then tries to copy his actions and do exactly as he does to pray there, and he looks at her from the corner of his eye! The pirs then blessing their "mohabbbat" and wishing them a "speedy waaris" was another great moment when they stole a look at each other, and Jalal's soul (in hindsight) thought: "These pirs seemed not to know that we didn't share that kind of relationship, but in later events showed they had spoken on what fate intended!". The tying of the daghas was a superb scene, when Jodha actually prays that: "He has taken so much from me, give me a chance, O God, "unhe paat padaane ke liye"." She refuses to tell him what her wish was, but he seems to be just dying to tell her his wish: "I have taken a lot from you, so now I want you to get everything you prayed for, especially as its your first visit here". She replies:"Its good then if both wishes come true", and that leaves mme wondering what is that "paat she is going to padaao-fy" soon? The lesson of love? Ooh, I can't wait! (P.S.: The dancing scene was lovely too, but it was direct lift from the movie, and so it did not impact me much, although it seems to have impacted Jodha a lot!)
6. The value of the makabra
Folks, I think it is very beautiful the way Ekta and her crew are using the Akbar Ka Makabra scenes to show the "talks in hindsight" between Jodha and Jalal's atmas about how their love blossomed. Did you all notice yesterday how he kept calling her Marium Uz-Zamani? It is almost as if the creatives don't want us to miss any of theose critical moments when their love took a new turn, so it is all being brought homme to us via the atmas of Jodha and Jalal talking to each other at the makabra. Isn't it also giving a feeling of "epic love" when we see two dead souls still as much in love as they were when they were alive? I think the makabra scenes adds to the epic-ness of the love story. The scenes on the screen seem haunting!
7. The tiger scene so far and its sweet moments
Just want to add a word about the tiger scene. The actual fight with the tiger is yet to happen so let's wait for that to unfold and see where that takes the Jodha-Jalal love story. But meanwhile, it was lovely to see their arguments yesterday about the shikar trip did not descened into an ugly spat as it could have in earlier phases of the story. He was arguing why its OK, and she was arguing why it is not OK, but at no time in this conversation did it become "You are a jallad" vs. "You are a hypocrite". In fact I liked the way he tells her in the middle of the forest "Why are you not talking something?" ... and then yet another sweet moment unfolds when she tells him she can stop him from killing innocent animals as she once did before when he and Ruq wwre doing shikar. He gets a moment's realisation of: "Oh, so it was you" and then he asks if she had at that time itself started her "Ruq defeating campaign". I thought he seemed to relish this Jodha vs Ruq situation! Which man wouldn't if he has three begums and they were all providing him with entertainment with their antics against each other?
8. Ekta and Zee add their spice at the press conference
To top up our anticipation of the great story now turning into an epic love, bth Ekta and zee have had a press conference to say the story will now take a massive turn towards love. Gone are the days of antipathy, and wait and watch for a story told as never before. Okay Ekta, we wait, don't disappoint us. And as for Rajat and Paridhi, who cares if you hit it off together offscreen or not ... we want you to set our TV screens ablaze! That's all!
Wonderful analysis Jyo 👏 👏 👏...What can I say this week has been a fantastic week indeed from Jalal saving Jodha to the two of them going the to the peer baba to pray for Jala's life to Jodha realizing that her husband does has a heart 😳 😃
Jodha realizing that Jalal does has a heart and that he isn't as she thought he was IMO was the starting point of her wall coming down a little...After her attempt suicide Jalal saw a glimpse of himself in her or should I say the loneliness that despite him being surrounded by so many people he does feel like he belongs (hope I made sense)? there was mutual understanding 😳 😳
Exactly Zetter .. Jalal could finally connect with Jodha on common grounds .. he could understand her pain since he went through the same and mayb still looking for that one companion in his life to whom he can open up his heart ... No wonder he dint make a big issue of Jodha's suicide since he could understand why she took this drastic step ...Jodha asked god to help her teach Jalal a lesson but IMO she'll be the one who will be taught a lesson and the man she says she hates is the same one that she'll be doing everything in her power to save after the tiger attacks him 😉 😃 😳
Yup .. God will make sure both learn the lesson of their life in this Ajmer trip 😉As for Ruqaiyya what can I say she was really pissed off at Jalal for no faulty of his and then she snapped at Salima leaving the latter shocked with her comment about her not losing her King to any Queen...I do see Ruqaiyya trying some tricks to get Jodha away from Jalal but I don't know if she will turn violent...her insecurities are sure coming out that's a given 🤢
Yeah Ruqaiyya is quite an unpredictable character and we never know what she will b upto but yes she will definitely try to get Jodha away from Jalal after both return back from the trip ..Oh the divine power always at work, Jodha tried running away from Jalal only to be saved by him not once by three times...When sill she realize that she can't run away from her destiny?? 😛 😉
Exactly 😳P.S it was awesome seeing Jalal having fun and Jodha seeing him in a new light 😊Can't wait for next week's episodes!!!

Jyo, fantastic analysis!👏⭐️⭐️ This weeks episode was really beautiful! And from what am seeing it seems the love saga was worth the wait.😳😳
It was great seeing Jalal go all by himself searching for his wife then give her a reality check and also make her know she's still a begum of Agra!👏 Jodha I won't blame that much though she was silly but at that time she felt unwanted! That realisation to Jalal on how he and Jodha have similarities was great to see. Maham will surely go mad.😆😆 My mom said she would have slapped Jalal had he continued talking about him and Jodha.🤣Todays episode was nothing but magical with AkDah everywhere! Waiting for next week eagerly..and Mohan is here finally.😆
Prem Yuddh ka aarambh hooo ! 🥳
I would say the best week after the wedding week ! 😎
I agree .. the whole week was magical especially the way story progressed towards Jalal-Jodha love track 😳
Jalal... The beauty of his strength lies in putting himself in someone's shoes! ! He has proved that to be his strength time and again! His explanations to MA (ignord her) were so beautifully done!
He understands how its the feeling of ABANDONMENT that has overtaken Jodha's sanity! Why does he put people in his place? Only and only because he does NOT want anyone else to suffer what he despised to have suffered at a point of time!
Be it betrayal, abandonment, or somewhere even growing up without a cherished childhood!
Dono ek hi kasthi main sawar! till now the balance was turbulent since J-J wanted to somehow keep their feet in two boats, but now Jalal of the two has realised that they travel in the same boat, and with that comes the almost-end of a fidgety balance! 😳
I agree .. he actually understands emotions well ... he has seen so much in his own childhood that whenever he sees someone going through pain or frustration of getting abandoned by their own family , he is quick to understand it well and knows exactly how to deal with it 👍🏼
I love the Dargaah sequence despite that little danger warning lol ! Moti had once told jodha in the very early epis that saraswati maa resides on our speech so always be cautious ! Poor jodha will be first guilty of removing the bullets and then for asking God to help her teach Jalal a lesson ! Even Jalal asked for it to be true ! 😭 but if all this gives some malam patti me is totally fine u see mom ! 🤣
Actually this Mohan tiger epi will b a lesson for both 😉 .. Jodha will not loose control on her motor mouth from now onwards and Jalal will realise that he is not really the king of the jungle instead its mohan pyaare 😆 , so not to take these pranis for granted 😛😆😆... In the end both will hv some cool time doing jungle mein initial stages ka mangal 😆😆
It was good they showed the soul talk today and this entire Dargaah scene as a sort of start to their story and hence it was today justified why they chose Dargaah as a soul talk place 👏
The sun rays falling on jodha was a good indication how Jalal himself indirectly chose jodha as his partner to almighty's path by keepin her there ! 😳
Yes yess yess .. these days CVs simply rock with dargah epis .. it always brings out the best in any love story na 😉😳😳
Another thing I loved this week was jodha and her soul talk ! Especially the green jodha ! 😈 jodha somewhere knew it that she has been prejudiced towards Jalal more than needed and has not tried to fit in as he has done despite his personal vendetta ! 👏 the biggest plus point is that it's not another person but jodha herself who unconsciously realizes this ! 😆
And I do expect this green anteraatma of Jodha to make a comeback in near future and tell her she is in love with this Hitler Jalal only 😛😛
Mainavati was kept realistic and I liked tht very much ! No woman especially a queen would take back her daughter in those times and I'm glad they didn't sugar coat it using liberty that a wailing maina would take her back ! ⭐️
Agree
The snake part was best ! 🤣 mere Taraf se two songs !
Main Teri dushman dushman tu mera main naagin tu Sapera ! 😡 🤣
Main Laila Laila chillaunga dupatta phaadke ! 😃 🤣
Jalal and his taunts to jodha were awesome ! Even jodha can't help but smile ! 😛

@jyo, @Zetter - Hi you two! This is Priya from the PV DC thread. I don't know if you both remember me or not. But when I saw the thread by jyoti I did not know it was the jyoti that I knew but after reading the post I got confirmation that it is indeed you as you have a unique style of writing. Loved the post. I have been watching the show since episode 1 which really got me hooked with a unique portrayal of Jodha and Akbar's souls sharing their saga of love to us viewers. The souls reminiscing their journey of love was indeed unique and novel way of entertaining us viewers and I have to commend the CVs/PH/Ekta or whoever it is who came up with that notion. I always wanted to make a post and seeing jyo's post made me actually come out and post for the first time in this forum.
OMGG Priya I remember u .. I used to love your takes in DC and missed u too during the last days 🤗.. its so good to see u joining too 😳 .. most of DCians and PVians watch JA and write their takes too .,. after PV , we r all hooked to this show .. well we all hv similar likes in this case 😉,... The show is going really well so far and despite being an Ekta show , she has managed to keep it different in terms of execution and grandness compared to her other daily soaps .. so far its going good ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️This week's episodes were all power packed with no dragging whatsoever. Just like you @jyo, even the thought of Jodha committing suicide was repulsive to me considering her character was sketched to be of someone who has dignity, honor, pride and yet pure and selfless who by no means would take an easy way out of all the troubles by ending her own life. However, it seems that that extreme measure by Jodha was what was needed for Jalal to put himself in her shoes and empathize with her. He is genuinely trying hard to not pay attention to her barbed taunts and accusations after setting his anger and revenge aside since he has finally come to realization that she has lost way too much in this game of hate and revenge and feels so lonely and sad when every single one of her relations have betrayed her since her marriage was arranged with him. Her feelings and emotions were up for a toss with Suryabhan's death, her whole family keeping her marriage proposal to Jalal a secret and then her marriage to Jalal who by all means was raised to be a ruthless ruler. However, she is not completely ignorant of who Jalal is or what he is capable of since part of her conscience was defending Jalal prior to her committing suicide.
Yup Priya , initially I was against this idea of suicide too and I remember when it first came in SBS , my first reaction was what nonsense .. but this week as the episodes went by , I realised why this blunder by Jodha was important in terms of story progress and later the beautiful self-talk by Jalal wherre he puts himself in Jodha's shoes sort of nailed the fact that suicide attempt was the major trigger point in Jalal's change of heart towards Jodha just how the Ajmer sharif visit wil b a trigger point for Jodha's change in heart for Jalal 😳... And yes one of her anteraatmas did defend Jalal as the king which is a clear indication that somewhere as a begum of Agra , Jodha knows what Jalal did was not totally wrongI absolutely adored Jalal today. He has come a long way from being a cold, distant, ruthless ruler to a caring husband (mind you, I don't say loving since they both are yet to realize that feeling for each other) who was able to puts his wife's safety, respect and pride above all else. He has a smile even when she is sarcastic or throws taunts at him since he is able to understand her state of mind and differentiate that as her way of maintaining her sanity and putting up a brave front when internally she is completely shattered which is why she decided to end her misery by taking her own life.
Oh yess he was simply adorable this whole week especially thurs and friday's epis ./.. he no more gets pissed with Jodha's taunts since after the suicide attempt , he does understand her frustrations which comes from her loneliness and being abandoned by her mother and so he is cool with the idea of Jodha venting out her frustrations on him 😳The thing that I adored the most was when she was so open and willing to follow his way of offering prayers to Ajmer Shariff. Despite following different religions by birth they both are open and respectful of each other's religion/Gods. There was no pride or arrogance in either one of them when it comes to religion or God as they both believe that He is the one with supreme power who is capable of writing people's destinies. What stood out in Ajmer Shariff was Jalal being so selfless and sweet when he wishes for Jodha's wishes to come true and Jodha being her little haughty self is asking the almighty to grant her wish of teaching Jalal a lesson. Little does she know that she is going to eat her own words out of guilt and shame when the person whom she hates the most or atleast proclaims to do so is going to teach her a lesson by risking his life to save her when it is she who is solely responsible for his encounter with death. I think that should make Jodha come out of her shell of hatred and revenge seeing how selflessly he sacrificed his life to save her from the beast.
Exactly .. both gave respect to each other's religion and there was no superiority complex or anything shown at Dargah ... the whole hindu and muslim debate should come to an end here itself watching the way Jalal and Jodha gave respect to each other's religion without showing any supremacy or arrogence 👏👏👏
