The CVs know how to keep us on the edge of the chair. We all knew it would be Jodha but we all also want to know how it would be Jodha specially when Ruqu knows about the suraj ki pehali noor. As MA was there I wonder if she will come back and warn Ruqu again that inspite of your trying to be the begum, it was only Jodha who got the noor. Good point about how Jalal stopped by to let Motibai know that she is now sultanat ki begum - men and their ego

As always, it was a pleasure to read your post. As you said it was silly of Jodha to demand where Jalal was taking her. Nevertheless, I don't know why, but as I watched that scene, I had an insane urge to laugh. Maybe because I was thinking: good lord jodha, Jalal is royally pissed and you have the nerve to DEMAND, not even ask politely or softly. Heck if it was me, I probably would have stayed quiet, but Jodha on the other hand never fails to surprise me. I absolutely enjoyed watching that scene because it was so unexpected (plus the expressions were phenomenal)! 😆

Shyamala,
everyone is pointing on the Kaanta part...It is just an articulation of feelings on Jo's part..😛However Foolish and hollow though...she feels that her life has been pin-cushioned by Jalaal and fate...hence the dialogue...😛
😆

Regards,
Kamal

P.S.Yet to see today's epi so can't comment more...

I marvel at your ability to sound cheery, if I had been locked up for as long as you had , I would've been distraught! Apart from my claustrophobia problem, but being barred into your room, accident notwithstanding; is my no.1 on my Nightmare List! So I am so glad you're safe & seem fine, Sasha Aunty! 🤗

Now that I've swooned at that scene enough, can I just tell you how disappointed I am? The quality of the scene didn't match upto the one in my head barring a few details, and it was too short! But I did love it nontheless, disappointment & all.

Jodha's mad dash on the horse reminded me of the Princess & The Pea story for some reason, she wasn't laden with jewels in that one but her heavy ghagra & being on the horse made her look strange but despite that she handled it well .

And what to say of Rajat? He is perfect in every way, every day!!! . The minute that that annoying green Persian cat of his proclaimed that Jodha doesn't even want him & worse , that she is sure she has disappeared only to commit suicide; Rajat's face showed glimpses of all emotions- Alarm, anger, sadness . And that continued in this episode too. His raging at her daasis was typical of Alpha-Males. Misplaced worry & being scared out of his wits (the scene where Ruq reminds him of the Rajputi rasam of Jauhar) found its place in this daasi-scare.

His face softened only when Moti Bai dropped down to the ground & I totally saw what you saw Aunty. There was something in that deep ,heart-felt plea that spurred Jalal into personally locating Jodha. Like an excellent, but stubborn horse who needed a good push! And this one is an Imperial horse at that! 😆😊

Jalal has too much confidence on his Emperor-Ship or on Jodha if he actually expected her to halt when he issued her that verbal farmaan! 😆Arre pyaare nyaare Jallu-Jaan. Jab jeevat hain tab toh har farmaan ko thukraaya hain. Jab Marne jaa Rahi kya farmaan aur kya armaan 😆

Jodha's pre-jump scene was done well, esp the flashbacks she had. Interesting to note that it was Jalal raging at her declaring his nafrat for her, that made her take that one jump into that lake. Nice! Some where, whether Jodha admits it or not, it bothers her too much that Jalal hates her too. It angers her, bothers her & because she doesn't understand why & fears that too, she has suppressed it. Pre-marriage she thought that even though she hates him, there had to be some value she possessed that was valued in Jalal's drishti. It wasn't voiced or even implied but I felt it. It was only when he was drunk & the bangle tod scene took place & she realised that Jalal hates her too; that her Hatred , revealed itself full-force.

The awaam seeing the part Rajput-part Mughal couple on horseback was so cute. Even if illogical. No man could ever even raise his eyes above the ground if a Mughal woman was in the area & women were told to keep to this rule too, but because it was a sweet sight seeing their bashful smiles & implication of their perceptions, I shall say i liked it. 😃

Maham Anga maybe Satan's mother but her sharp as tack & computer -like brain sizes up everything & by telling Ruqaiiya that she will regret bringing to Jalal's notice that Jodha has gone missing, she was carrying out her agenda but there was a tinge of a favour towards Ruqaiiya.

My favourite bit: Jalal's sensitive gesture of reassuring Moti Bai & the other daasis, about Jodha's well-being 😊 . Calling Jodha "RaaniSaa" was exactly that Aunty, "a graceful concession to Rajput mores"! And a sensitivity that , One wouldn't have expected of an Emperor. It is that that, warmed me to this bit the most.

Precap: Rajat steals most scenes & as you so rightly pointed out, gives them a refreshing take. I usually laugh at overt romantic displays or ostentatious ones, but their pointed remarks & sniper-like exchanges change the tone of such scenes! ⭐️

And why exactly was Jodha talking about kaantas when there were none in sight? She just felt she had to up Jalal's mischievous comment , Good Lord, this woman, I've no idea how he bears her beyond a hour. I wish she would've fallen in that mud. 😆

As always, loved reading your perspective.
All in all, for me it was a winning episode where the director had taken a lot of small things into account.
MA's shrewdness was impressive, like she said- Jalal doesn't yet understand Jodha's effect on him.
Jodha repeated remembering Jalal's reason for marrying her was interesting an thought provoking.
The duo riding the horse together was worth million repeats. . No wonder it provided delight to the onlookers.
Now 2 things where Jalal gained a lot of respect in my view point.
1. Him taking Jodha via the secret passage to avoid questions.
2. Him pausing and reassuring Moti that her beloved queen is safe and fine. I just loved it!
Now the Mughal Sultan ki izzat will fall in the same cadre as Ghrina for me as I felt these two are too proud to attribute the care and attention they give each other to anything else.

@KDR81: Her life might have been pin-cushioned as you say, by Jalal , but words make most sense when they fit the context.
Mughal garden, pigeons & doves eating grain, baandis all around them ,head bent & waiting for hukums, musical water, air misted with a rosey fragrance.

Where are the kaantas! 😆

In her head, Tripti, where else?

Jodha is now becoming that most disastrous of things for an actor, boring. She looks, in that armour plate-like necklet and her stiff costume, like a stuffed turkey. Her face, set in rigid anger, also looks as if she is coming down with the mumps. Her eyes are puffy and narrowed. Finally, she inevitably has a nice, self-justificatory, soul-improving lecture ready for Jalal.

I begin to think Suryabhan was better off sar ke bina, all things considered. Bechara Jalal to phans gaya; gale mein akti huyi hai yeh Begum Jodha, ne nigalte bane ne thookte bane.
