(hamida returned back with the marham in her hands...as she was about to enter the room...she again got amazed with jalal's tactics...she saw hakim stitching jalal's wound with the needle and he was smiling continuously closing his eyes...she stood there dumbstruck...suddenly a scene from jalal's childhood...emerged in front of her eyes... )

(FlashBack start):-

(Little jalal running here and there and hamida trying to catch him...he had an injury near his forehead...which was continuously bleeding...)

Hamida:- jalal...beta...ruk jayiye...kyu thaka rahe hai apni ammi ko...humare paas aayiye beta...

Jalal:- nahi ammi jaan...hum nahi aayege... hume sui se bahut dar lagta hai...hum hakim ke paas nahi jayege...

Hamida:- esa nahi kehte beta...dekhiye kitna khun beh raha hai aapke zakham se ...agar sahi waqt par taanke na lagvaye to ye naasoor ban jayega beta...humari majburi to samjhiye...yaha aayiye jalal...

Jalal:- nahi...hume nahi lagvane taanken...aur agar aapne dobara humse esa karne ko kha to hum aapse kabhi bhi baat nahi karege...samjhi aap...

Hamida:-(finally caught him and held his shoulders...) beta...kya aapko apni ammi per itna bhi bharosa nahi...hum keh rahe hai na kuch nahi hoga...ek pal lagega bus aur aapko pata bhi nahi chalega...ab zid choriye aur...chaliye humare sath....(she cups his face in his hands...)

Itni badi saltanat ke shezade hoker ek choti si sui se itna khauf...humara jalal itna bhi kamzor nahi ho sakta...agar aap itni choti si cheez se dar jayege to aage chalker ye takht aur siyasat kaise samhalege beta....(and after much difficulty...finally she became successful in convincing him for the treatment...hamida carried jalal in his lap and went to hakim sahib...jalal cried bitterly during the treatment...even after hamida tried to comfort him as much as she could...)

(hamida was shocked to see jalal smiling while the stitches...since his childhood, he was never afraid of anything ...any weapon...but whenever it came to needle and stitches...he always used to behave like a child...scared like hell...but this time his reaction was way too different...she approached near the bed... .The hakim completed his work and cut the remaining thread with the scissor)

Hakim:- lijiye shenshah...ho gaya....(he noticed hamida's arrival...)...are aap aa gayi marium makani...layiye...jaldi se wo marham dijiye...humne shenshah ka zakham see diya hai...ab bus marham lagana baki hai...agar allah ne chaha to ye jaldi hi durust ho jayege...

Hamida:- koi fikr ki baat to nahi hai na hakim sahib...

Hakim: - nahi marium makani aap khamkha hi pareshan ho rahi hai...koi chinta ki baat nahi hai... (And he applied the marham on his wound...covering it properly ...then tied a clean white cotton cloth around it...)

Hakim:- acha shenshah...ab hume izazat dijiye aur ghabrane wali koi baat nahi hai hamida begum...zakham jaldi hi bhar jayega...bus ye dawaiya aur maraham patti waqt per karwate rahiyega...ab hum chalte hai...khuda hafiz...(and he raised his hand to bid them adieu and left...now hamida and jalal were alone in the room...hamida was continuously staring at jalal without even a blink... with lots of questions in her mind...jalal noticed it but dint try to find out the reason...he stood up...wore his kurta and looked at hamida...she was still jammed at her position looking at him...finally jalal broke up the silence...)

Jalal:-(hesitating a bit...confused) kya hua ammi jaan...aap hume ese kyu dekh rahi hai ...

Hamida:- kuch nahi...bus humare samne khade is shaks ko pehchanne ki koshish kar rahe hai...

Jalal:- ji???? Hum kuch samjhe nahi ammi jaan...

Hamida:- yahi to baat hai jalal...aapko nahi lagta ke masumiyat ki had ho rahi hai ab...

Jalal:- aap kehna kya chahti hai...saaf saaf kyu nahi kehti...

Hamida:- to thik hai...ab hum jo bhi kahege...jo bhi sawal karege...uska jawab apko har kimat per dena hi hoga hume...to batayiye... humara beta jalal kaha hai...

Jalal:- aap thik to hai ammi jaan...hume to apki tabiyat kuch nasaaz lag rahi hai...ye kaise betuke sawalat kar rahi hai aap humse...hum hai aapke bte...jalal...

Hamida:- acha...hume to nahi lagta...aaj subah se jo hum dekh rahe hai...uske baad humara is baat per se yakin uth sa gaya hai...

Jalal:- hume samajh nahi aa raha ke aap ye sab kyu keh rahi hai...kis buniyad per ye sawal kar rahi hai humse...esa kya kar diya humne ammi jaan...

Hamida:- kya kiya...ye puchiye kya nahi kiya jalal...koi aapki chiz ko bina izzazat istemal karta hai aur apko gussa nahi aata...jaha tak hume yaad hai...pichali baar jab ek sainik ne galti se bina puche aapki shamshir utha li thi to aapne use 20 kodo ki saza sunane me zara bhi deri nahi ki thi...

Sirf itna hi nahi... hakim sahib aapko taanke laga rahe the aur aap betahasha muskuraye ja rahe the...jahan tak hume pata hai humara beta jalal to sui se bachpan se hi itna khauf khata tha jitna aaj dushman shenshah e hind se khate hai...aur to aur ruqqaiya ko sabke samne danta aapne...pehle bhi to usne kai begumo ke sath badsalukiya ki hai...tab to kuch nahi kaha aapne usse...dekhker bhi andekha kiya...to phir aaj achanak esa kya ho gaya...

Jalal:- ammi jaan....(irritated) hum koi chote bachhe nahi rahe ab jo sui aur taanko se khauf khaye...aur rahi hakim sahib ki ...to hume samajh nahi aata...hum saza dete hai to aapko taklif hoti hai...nahi dete hai tab bhi aapko taklif hoti hai...aakhir hum kare to kya kare...pata nahi ab kya chahti hai aap...hume aur bhi zaruri kaam hai...aapke in betuke sawalo ke liye waqt nahi hai humare paas...(he made his way outside quickly avoiding hamida's questions...hamida held his hand tightly preventing him to run away from the reality...she wanted his answer at any cost today...she never forced him for anything but today she had to...she couldn't let him go ...)

Hamida:- waqt nahi hai to waqt nikaliye jalal...ammi hai hum aapki...pura haq hai hume janne ka ke humare bte ki zindagi me kya chal raha hai...aur hum is badlav ki wajah janna chahte hai...hum janna chahte hai ke in do dino me aakhir esa kya ho gaya hai jo aap is kadar badal gaye hai...batayiye jalal...bina jawab diya nahi jaa sakte aaj aap yaha se...bataiye...kya wajah hai...

Jalal:-(turned to face her...looked straight in her eyes...)...to kya aapko ye badlaav pasand nahi ammi jaan...batayiye ...kya aap bhi humesha hume waise hi bina jazbaato ke dekhna chahti hai...wohi tanha...mayus...sangdil ...zalim...shenshah jalal pasand hai aapko...humari khushi nahi dekhi jati aapse....(he held her shoulders tight) aapne to kabhi pyar diya nahi hume...aur ab jab koi aur dena chahta hai to aapko jalan ho rahi hai...bataiye ammi jaan...kya is kadar khatak raha hai humara badlna aapki nazro me jo aap itni bechain hai...boliye...

Hamida:- (shocked to the core at his words...she never knew that jalal had such thoughts for her)...jalal...aap esa soch bhi kaise sakte hai beta...ke hum aapki khushiyo se jalege...aapki muskurahat se taklif hogi hume...jiski salamati ke liye hum apni jaan tak nyochavar karne se nahi darte...usi bte ki khushiyo se jalan hogi hume??...(tears flowed down her eyes...but she quickly wiped them off...)......maaf kijiyega... hume aapki zindagi me dakhal andazi nahi karni chahiye thi...shayad hume koi haq nahi aapse sawal karne ka...mauff kar dijiyega hume...chalte hai hum...

(and she turned to leave...but jalal held her hand...he was feeling really guilty for what he said to his mother in frustration and rage...he held her hand and made her sit on the bed...and sat in front of her ...holding her hand...)

Jalal:- hume maaf kar dijiye ammi jaan...pata nahi gusse me kya kya keh gaye hum aapse...humara maksad aapke dil ko thes pahuchana bilkul bhi nahi tha...aap humari ammi jaan hai...pura haq hai aapko humare bare me sab kuch janne ka...(hamida was looking down...and tears were flowing from her eyes...jalal lifted her face up with both of his hands...wiped her tears out...)

Acha...ab sach sach batyiye...kya hume ese dekhker aapko acha nahi laga...

Hamida:- (composing herself) esa bilkul bhi nahi hai jalal...hum aapse behad mohabbat karte hai beta...bhale hi aap is baat ko na samjhe...magar humare liye aapse badker koi nahi...aur hum to behad khush hai aapko is tarah dekhker...aap nahi jante ...kitni besabri se is din ka intezar kiya hai humne...ho sakta hai... aapko lagta ho ke humne aapko pyar nahi diya...apna sath nahi diya...per hum esa kabhi bhi nahi chahte the jalal...aapke walid ke intekal ke bad humare kandho per zimmedari ka bojh is kadar aan pada tha...ke hum majbur the...hum aapse dur sirf isliye rahe taki aapke aane wale jivan me koi mushkil na aaye...taki aapko siyasati daav pench sikhne ka pura waqt mil sake...bahari muddo ki zimmedari humne uthayi taki aapko dushmano se mehfuz rakh sake...taki aapki talim dang se ho sake...aap nahi jante jalal...ek ek pal aapse dur kaise bitaya hai aapki ammi ne...khun ke aansu roya hai humara dil apke bina jalal...aur ab jab hum apko wo mohabbat...wo pyar... dena chahte hai to aap humse itne dur ja chuke hai ke apka wapas aana namumkin sa lagne laga hai hume ...(and she broke down completely...)..

(jalal was shocked to hear the reality...he cursed himself for giving his mother such a pain...tears flowed down his eyes...he finally realized today...that how much his mother loved him...how much she cared for him...he hugged hamida tightly out of happiness...hamida hugged him back...)

Jalal:- hume maaf kar dijiye ammi jaan...kitna galat sochte rahe hum aaj tak aapke bare me...pata nahi kaise humne aapki mohabbat ko nahi pehchana...per ab hume humari nasamjhi ka ehsaas ho gaya hai...hume maaf kar dijiye ammi...hume maaf...(he wept like a small child in his mother's arms...hamida continuously caressed his shoulder and hairs)

(finally hamida broke the hug...and wiped off his tears...cupped his face in her hand...placed a soft kiss on his forehead...)

Hamida:- nahi beta...khuda ke liye apni ammi ko sharminda mat kijiye maafi mangker...aapka koi kusur nahi hai jalal...kusoor to halato ka hai jinhone hume aapse dur ker diya tha...per aaj hum behad khush hai...ke hume humara beta wapas mil gaya...

Jalal:- (composing himself) lekin aapko zara bhi akal nahi hai kya...ese sawal puchker kisi ko pareshan kiya jata hai kya...pyar se nahi puch sakti thi...

Hamida:-(wiped her tears off...) acha baba...thik hai...ab pyar se puch lete hai...hume to bus us wajah ka naam janna hai jisne hume humara hasta khelta jalal wapas ker diya...taki hum uska shukriya pure man se ada ker sake...to kya hai is badlav ki wajah...hmm??

(jalal held her hand and placed it at the left side of his chest close to his heart...hamida can listen and feel to his super fast heart beats...it brought a wide smile on hamida's face...)

Jalal:- (in a very soft voice...blushing lightly) ab isse jyada hum aapko aur kuch nahi bata sakte ammi jaan...

Hamida:- (excited...)...ya khuda jalal...humse aur sabr nahi ho raha ab...hum aapki zubaani sunna chahte hai...boliye beta...ab aur intezar nahi hota...(she waited for a moment...but jalal dint respond...)

Acha thik hai...hum apki mushkil thodi aasan kiye dete hai...ha ya na me to jawab de hi sakte hai aap...bataiye jalal...kya is badlav ki zimmedar jodha begum hai...????

(After listening jodha's name ...jalal started blushing really very hard...he stood up and faced away...hamida quickly followed him and stood in front of him ...)

Hamida:- ya khuda...ye hum kya dekh rahe hai...(amazed to the core)...aap...aap Sharma rahe hai jalal...aapki tasdir ka ye rang to humne aaj tak dekha hi nahi tha...ab keh bhi dijiye jalal...(jalal has now started avoiding eye contact with hamida...he was looking here and there...and hamida was continuously trying to make him look in her eyes...he was trying to face away again and again...but every time hamida used to come and stand in front of him so that he can't avoid her...she was way too excited... )...ab bus bahut ho gaya jalal...ammi hai hum aapki ...humse kya sharmana..haan...ab humse bilkul nahi raha jaa raha...hum wada karte hai..kisi ko nahi batayege...bolna to apko padega hi aaj... Ab boliye bhi

(finally jalal gathered all his strength and decided to confess his feelings to his mother...as there was no way out...he had to do that...he spoke up finally...blushing)
