FAQ 1: Now here is my take on a question some have posed to me, which might be of general interest. This was about why Jalal went to Jodha to question her about the minor matter of her lying, and not to Salima to take her to task about the much more serious matter of her supposed guilt. The pat answer to that, which is the most popular here, is that Jalal is obsessed with Jodha and thus hurt by her lying to him.

I feel that he went to her first not because he was obsessed with her, which he is, or hurt, but because he was on the defensive. He is above all a warrior, and in a battle, when you are on the defensive, you attack at once. It is a running battle between them and he has lost this round, so he wants to pretend he has not by getting on a high horse and accusing her before she accuses him. He is defensive and so extra aggressive.

Whereas Salima is different. He is not sure about her guilt from the beginning, as the whole back story as far as she is concerned, from her being a close relative to the present, has been positive, and that gives him pause. Perhaps also he has become more cautious in this second case because of the Jodha fiasco. This is even before Jodha's calling his justice a joke, which of course reinforces this hesitation, whence the appeal to Shahabuddin.

FAQ 2: The other question: why does Jalal go to Ruqaiya for consultations about Jodha's reaction this time, whereas he did not do so on earlier occasions? I think it is because

(a) he does not realise where he is headed with Jodha. If he did, he would never include Ruqaiya in the matter. And

(b) he is now on very uncertain ground, having been blindsided, not only by the unexpected vehemence of Jodha's searing denunciation, but also by the depth of the pain that lies beneath it, which he grasps, though not completely. He wants to consult the only woman he is close to, to get a handle on this poori tarah se alagh female's mind, but he has dialed a wrong number, for a Ruqaiya can never understand Jodha.

That was just Superb , aunty. Perfect analysis. every word , like i was just feeling while watching the episode.

and thanks for answering my question abt why he goes to jodha first. actually i had the same thing in mind butdon't know how to analyse or to be frank i wasn't sure if my thoughts were correct. ur answers here proved, i was correct in my thinking. so perfectly analysing Jalal's character.

Coming to the fun-filled Javeda-Maham dialogue, I wonder if you noticed that while it was a light and comic segment, there was this dialogue of Javeda regarding Gulab ka Ark, and for some reason she was shown as carrying bottles of medicinal oils to mix and use, etc etc. I am beginning to think that at this crucial stage of the serial, when the miscarriage case is hitting its high notes, this can't be a random scene between Javeda-Maham, and I have a feeling that Maham (who is the ultimate culprit according to Tatasky's synopsis, which never fails to tell the truth!) may have used Javeda the unsuspecting idiot in some way to mix the dature ka ark with the kesar?

Mansi, thanks for bringing this up! i thought may be i was the only one who heard the word"ark" in Javeda's dialogue! As you rightly pointed it out, i too have my doubts why the CVs randomly showed us this 'comic relief' scene with medicine bottles in the background. There surely seems to be a connection!

If Maham is the culprit then what was the point of her private conversation with Reshma!🤔

If that could be a fact, then we can surely count on Javeda's motor-mouth to spill the beans sooner than expected. I think between Rahim's info that he may have been playing with the dibbi in his mother's room (after maybe finding it elsewhere in the harem or with Maham?) and Javeda's revelations about medicinal mixes, this Jodha the sleuth may uncover the culprit as Maham?
me too thinks the same! Either Javeda or Rahim will somehow help in connecting the dots!

Despite Jalal warning Ruq not to tell even one more soul about Salima being a suspect, I think we can safely count on Ruq blabbering to Jodha, for it is in the nature of Hindi serials that the herogiri must fall to the heroine. So maybe we will have Ruq tell all to Jodha who then gets vital clues from Rahim-Javeda to uncover the plot and thus help Jalal feel even more shame that he has suspected none less than Sherlock Holmes!?

there is a good possibility!😉

Liked it to core.

Notable was your take on Paridhi's acting. her acting is not always mentioned, discussed or appreciated as of Rajat's acting skills (this is my view in general, I do not intent to hurt ANYBODY in forum). Besides pretty and expressive, what I like about Paridhi's acting is her diction and voice modulation.

Oh Sasha (I like this!) Aunty, I can't forget the little flash of jealousy when Jodha said "Humne Aap se baar baar kahan ki Hum gunehgaar nahin hain, par Aapne ne Humaari ek nahin maani. Par Ruqaiiya Begum ne ek baar kaahan, aur Aapne maan liya!"
Whether it is known or not known, Jodha is jealous & I loved that!

And I think Moti senses it. This constant hatred of Jodha's for her husband, Shahenshaan Jalal. I think she senses there is so much more beneath the surface & I am sure in time, she & Hamida Bano Begum will be the ones to make Jodha realise that she is not head over heels in hatred, but hopelessly in love with Jalal!

For me that flash of an expression on Jalal's face was particularly significant. It was .. Regret. Jalal truly regrets the way he behaved with Jodha through this waaris ordeal & I am sure he will make it upto her excellently. But In true Jalal fashion- Apologetic, remorseful, but all these humbling emotions should be cloaked with his Imperial aura.

Another significant scene was, Jodha & Hamida Bano Begum 's little talk. They've truly shed all their respective courtesies & come to see each other as their true soul mates within this hostile, power hungry Mughal palace!

Jalal is spot on- His mother prefers Jodha to him 😆 any day. It is a calling of one pure heart, to another. And the delight that each experience. 😊

Note: the LINE of the day! " Ammi Jaan Hum Aapse Kucch poochna chahte hain. Aapke yeh saare gunn, Aapke bte mein kyun nahin?" Oh Jodha! Your innocent bewilderment makes me want to hug you!! 😆

You are an excellent writer 😊

The best part is

As for Salima, she might be Jalal's cousin now, but she must have been Bhagwan Das's sibling in a prior birth. Both have a talent for utter and total blankness of expression, no matter what the circumstances!😉

Aunty I've always felt that Paridhi is more of a subtle actor than Rajat. Rajat for a tv actor, is exceptional no doubt & I am sure he will end up doing movies in the future. The heart throb is so young!
But Paridhi is also a exceptional actor for a tv actor. Mass production tends to murder creativity like nothing else!! What helps Paridhi apart from her very charming & pretty face ( and as Jodha, her very beautiful & heavily jewelled self) is her voice. For an actor, his/her voice is a very important, tool but sadly it's under-rated. Paridhi has a lovely voice! She can coo like a koyal & gracefully roar like a tigress! Her voice modulation & tonal quality is very good too!

Which is why I now feel that Ekta Maiyya was spot on. Paridhi is Jodha!

For all her faults, Ekta Maiyya knows how to pick her actors like NO-ONE else!

Excellent insight as usual Aunty👍🏼!!! And I dare say you have come a long way for praising Paridhi's acting prowess😛😊. Remember you had once mentioned that you would have preferred Sonarika Bhadoria in her place. But I am so glad that now you have finally given her your approval😳. She was terrific in those scenes and her voice modulation were just perfect. But the last dialogue where she asks him to leave was a way bit too much for me. Can't imagine in reality somebody would have dared to dismiss the Shahenshah-e-hind in that tone😆😆.

And I loved your take on the 1st FAQ. Didn't think in that way before. Ab to Jalal har chal phookh phookh ke marega, apni Jodha begum ke saamne.

Diwane - khas wala scene was also another high point. I must say though I didn't approve of this Maan Singh before, he is getting better day by day. Eagerly awaiting more of Jalaal - Maan Singh camaradrie. And thanks once again for enlightening us with the word "Khwabhgah". Couldn't pick it up while watching...beautiful word indeed. Anyways Aunty I do learn so many words and terms from you everyday. Your post are surely unusal treat for all of us😳.

👏👏👏

I do have slightly different POV aunty.

Though Jalal got the much needed lecture to use his brains properly but the way Jodha blasted him with her hatred was a kind of let down for me
😕

Not because I desperately want Jalal Jodha romance but because her tirade against the Shahanshah proved that Jodha's intellect level was not much higher than the person whom she hates so much.

First - she blames Jalal for mistreating her and not trusting her family without any proof. She also says that she pleaded not guilty "bar bar"

Is she suffering from amnesia or is it just a lawyer's way of putting the case forward as you suggested? If your suggestion is true then she should not beat her own drums about being moralistic.
There were times when she insulted him and formed opinions about him without knowing the exact reality. AND She and her brothers decided to stand like a tree rather than screaming or pleading not guilty.

More important question - Why does Jodha demand that Jalal should ignore all the crucial evidence against them and would only trust her?

I mean - what has she done to win his trust? She has always clearly stated how much she hates Jalal...now when the evidence was against her it was natural for Jalal to believe in the evidence and not her.

I am repeating what I wrote in lashy's post -

"Jalal's prompt decision to burn Jodha and her brothers was TOTALLY wrong as he was not giving them the chance to prove themselves. But he did give the chance and his decision to attack Sujanpur was not completely personal.

If the fiasco hadn't happened may be he would have warned the Sujanpur party instead of waging war so quickly, but Sujanpur had their share of flaws too.
Even then, Sujanpur folks could have saved their skin by sending messenger to Jalal and surrendering the dacoits to the Mughals. Instead they flouted all the rules of war and attacked them at night.

I think Salima Begum would behave more objectively and logically.

Her readiness to spend time with Jalal showed that she listens to her head than her heart.
She knows that at one point or the other both husband and wife have to respect each other's demands...Jalal has given her everything she wanted till date...now it's her turn.

Similarly, she would understand the root cause of Jalal's suspicion and his accusations. Like Jodha, she too had never tried to build up any relation with Jalal and in fact showed openly how she loves BK even now. It was natural for Jalal to suspect her because they do not have that bonding so as to ignore the evidence provided and trust Salima blindly.

To see a situation objectively, one needs to have intelligence and detachment from the situation or person involved which Jodha does not have. ( i am talking about detachment to the person involved, not intellect😉) "

It is amusing to see how Jodha reacts to Jalal only with emotions putting the logic in the back burner. 😳

Jalal and Jodha are not exactly two halves complimentary to each other - they are basically very similar to each other in their temper, attitude and headstrong behavior. 😕

The only person who seems to compliment Jalal's impulsive and hot blooded nature is Salima Begum. Perhaps, that's why in the future, Jalal would give the right to issue farman only to Salima - neither to his BFF Ruku or his lady love Jodha.

P.S: Everyone praises EK for choosing the actors properly. But from where did she pick BD, Salima and HB? 😉
