Chapter Two, I Really Have To Go
(This is a day or two after chapter one)
Jala's Pov
I watched Punandavati (Jodha) as she stared at the performers who were juggling sticks on fire.
"Stop staring" she said with a side smile while still facing the performers.
I quickly turned to the face the performers. "What are you talking about? I was just watching the performers"
She gave me a knowing smile that said she wasn't buying my lie. "sure"
I turned to her and asked her if she wanted to look at that shops.
She smiled at me before she ran off. "race you there" she screamed to me before turning her head to me and giving me a quick smile.
"Hey!" I said ruining after her "that's not fair."
I caught up to her in seconds, and then it happened.
She turned to look at me when she tripped, I quickly moved to catch her. Her eyes were close as if she was wait for the ground to hit her, slowly she opened her eyes. I stared at her beautiful doe brown eyes, her soft inviting lips, and her cute blushing cheeks. She looked beautiful even in her simple villager clothes, she made them look like they were worth millions. At that moment it felt like it was just us, nobody else mattered, all the lies didn't exist.
I heard giggling, I looked to the side to see a group of girls looking our way and smiling. That's when we realized what position, we both quickly step away from the other.
"Um thank you" She said nervously while looking down.
"It's fine" I said still partly shocked from what just happened "let's go"
"I won" she said walking ahead of me.
"Did not"
I looked at Punandavati (Jodha) as she tried on a pair of bangles, I knew she liked them.
"here you go bhai sab" She said as she handed the bangles back to shop owner.
my brows creased in confusion, if she liked them then why didn't she buy them. It's ok I thought, I'll buy them for her.
She walked back towards me. "What?"
"Nothing"I said with a smile. "let's eat something" I took her hand in mine and felt the sparks , the ones I only felt around her. I brought her to the khir stand.
"two bowls bhai sab" I said to the vender who nodded his head and quickly passed us two bowls.
Punandavati (Jodha) slowly started eating from hers with a smile while I quickly finished mine.
"I am just gonna do something" I said to her before I ran off to the bangle seller. "I'll be right back"
"Can I have those ones" I asked pointing to the red ones Punandavati (Jodha) was looking at earlier.
"Are they for your wife?" Asked the seller. "The one in blue who came with you earlier?"
"Yes" I said as he handed me the bangles, I don't know why I said yes. Maybe because it felt nice pretending for a moment that we could be together.
"You make a good couple"
"Thank you" I said with a smile. "how much?"
"Its free" said the shop owner with a smile, one that said he knew something I didn't.
"Thank you"
I walked back to jodha and saw she finished her khir and had already threw away the bowl.
"close your eyes" I said, I wanted to surprise her.
"Why?"
"Just do it!"
"Fine" She said as She closed her eyes.
"Put your hands out"
She put her hands out, I reached forwards and slipped the bangles on her wrist.
"Open your eyes" I said with a smile.
She opened her eyes, a smile took over her face from seeing the bangles that were know on her wrist. Quickly the smile vanished and was replaced with a look of guilt.
"Jahan (Jalal)! you didn't have to buy these for me"
I muse at the though of her thinking they were expensive to me. I could buy her the finest clothes and jewelry, compared to that these bangles were nothing.
"It's alright, I wanted to"
"Thank you" She said looking down.
"Punandavati (Jodha)!" A voice screamed. I looked around to find a girl running towards us.
"Mum and dad are looking for you" she said catching her breath. "you were suppose to be back two hours ago"
Punandavati (Jodha) gasped, and turned to me "I am sorry, I have to go" She quickly said to me before she ran off, as she started running her payal fell.
I quickly picked it up and called Punandavati (Jodha). "Wait!"
"I am sorry!" she yelled to me slightly turning to me. "I really have to go"
Jodha's Pov
I watched the performers as they threw the flames up and caught them again. I could feel Jahan's (Jalal's) brown eyes staring at me.
"Stop staring" I finally said with a little smile. I was happy he was staring at me, but it was making me a little nervous.
I looked at him from the corner of my eye and saw quickly turning to the face the performers. "What are you talking about? I was just watching the performers" he said quickly and nervously.
I smiled at his obvious lie. "sure"
"Do you wanna look at the shops?" He asked me.
I smiled at him before I ran off. "race you there" I screamed to him before turning to look at him, I give him a quick smile and continued running.
"Hey!" He said ruining after me. "that's not fair."
He caught up to me in seconds, I turned my head to the side to look at him and I tripped.
I closed my eyes in wait for the hard ground to hit me, but it never did. Instead I felt strong arms holding on to me. I slowly opened my eyes and saw his intense brown staring into mine. I was lost in his brown eyes.
I heard giggling, I looked to the side to see a group of girls looking our way and smiling. That's when we realized what position, we both quickly step away from the other.
"Um thank you" I said nervously while looking down.
"It's fine" he said looking around "let's go"

"Bhai sab can I see those ones" i asked store owner. He handed me the bangles I asked for, red ones with little gold swirls on it. I tried them on and smiled, I liked them. They were simple, unlike anything I'd ever had.
I frowned, i forgot to bring money.
"here you go bhai sab" I handed the bangles back to him and walked to Jahan's (Jalal's). He had a smile on this face that said he was planning something.
"What?" I asked him.
"Nothing" He said with a smile. "let's eat something" He took my hand brought me the khir stand. when he touched my hand goosebumps rise on my arm as I felt his skin against mine. It felt so electrifying and my heart thumped in my chest so wildly I was petrified by the reaction. Ignore it Jodha I told myself.
"two bowls bhai sab" he said to the vender who nodded his head and quickly passed us two bowls.
I started eating from mine with a smile while Jahan (Jalal) quickly finished his.
"I am just gonna do something" he said "I'll be right back"
He ran off after that leaving me confused while eating my khir. That's odd I thought, Jahan (Jalal) almost never leaves my side whenever were together. I finished my khir and threw away the bowl, at that moment Jahan (Jalal) came back with a big smile. He walked towards me.
"close your eyes" he said.
"Why?"
"Just do it!"
"Fine" I said as I close my eyes.
"Put your hands out"
I put my hands out. He held my hand and slipped something onto my wrist.
"Open your eyes"
I opened my eyes and saw the red bangles I wanted from the shop, I looked over at his face and saw he wore a smile.
"Jahan (Jalal)! you didn't have to buy these for me" I said guilty, it was probably so expensive for him.
"It's alright" His smile widened "I wanted to"
"Thank you" I said looking down.
"Punandavati (Jodha)!" A voice screamed. I looked around to find moti running towards me.
"Mum and dad are looking for you" she said catching her breath. "you were suppose to be back two hours ago"
I gasped, she was right. "I am sorry, I have to go" I quickly said to Jahan (Jalal) before I ran to the palace.
"Wait!" I heard him call.
"I am sorry!" I yelled to him "I really have to go"
