Jalal is the type of guy who wants to control everything and everyone.

Spot on post. Jalal at this juncture knows he has a priceless treasure- but he wants to tame Jodha, and make her dependent on him. In short, he wants to reduce her to just another face in the harem because when he does that, he has finally punished her for having the temerity to raise a sword to the Emperor of India.
More than her beauty, it is that wilful spirit that enraptures and enrages him. And as time goes on and he sees that she will not break and will not bend (while keeping to her traditions and promises as best she is able) he will start changing, or perhaps more accurately, rediscovering himself. While MM and Ruq continue to play harem politics, Jodha and Jalal will be playing on an entire different level and an entirely different playing field.
I found it funny that Ruq said that chess will remain Jalal's favorite game- well honey, Jodha plays the game as well, and guess what? She's good at it too.
Regarding the precap: She told him that she was not a daasi to sing/dance/perform/be summoned. He did it anyway. So she retaliated. Jalal seems to think she'll fear his anger and more importantly, his disapproval. MM and Ruq probably think the same- to risk Jalal's disapproval is to risk your place in the Empire. The thing is Jodha does not care. Right now, if he leaves her alone, she'll be the happiest person on the planet- which is why Jalal will react to her instead of the other way around, as is the case with most of his relationships.

i think both j and a needs to understand each other...they will sure do it..but it will take time

i was so unhappy at what the writers were doing with Jodha's character for the past little while...in fact for some time now I didn't think they were showing her very strong...BUT...todays' dialogue in the tent...even at breakfast, she presented and delivered amazingly well:)

Although Jalal tricked her into feeding him, it was SHE that made him wait for his breakfast...loved the way he was fuming waiting for her to arrive.
