But hun, some people still have very very regressive mentality n therefore they like to watch a doormat sort of female in the lead , so obviously our Warrior princess , who is every bit a fierce Rajputani n an embodiment of strong woman , is not appreciated by them.
Yes , all this makes me feel sick too ,🤢 but kya kare...
May be that's why India is still a developing country instead of a developed one! 😵

It's a shame really ! Some still like docile , coy doormats who'll be perfect obedient wife 🤢 It shocks me when I read n hear comments portraying this kind of utter regressive mentality . I love my strong pit-fire Jodha , just hope n pray she remains the same always . I'm afraid CVs would turn her soft when the love blossoms between Akdha . If that happen , I'll soo not like it . 🥱

I want her to not be afraid of him, even if at times I'm sure her actions are going to make her second guess the wisdom of them...but I like that fiery attitude that I would want in My 16th centure princess. They are writing her character to be about 90% of what I personally want to watch. So that is why I tune in, because this show is not all about Rajat...its not all about jalal...its a love story about Jodha / Akbar...there is a 50/50 to this love story, and write now the CV's are doing an AMAZING job of holding my interest and not making me sick to mystomach in watching a submissive female, but a strong, likable character who has the STRENGTH to throw the wedding outfit into the fire...absolutely love it.

I too think female characters need to be strong. But dear there is a difference between showing a smart woman who is confident and a difference between a woman reaction emotionally. Dont you think this is showing a typical angry woman stereotype? Ke get a woman mad and she will react like this. Am only against the extent of the reaction. I too thnk she should anger but a way to do it too without showing such stereotypes. A dignified woman in her reactions doesn't mean she is submissive.

Wrote a post about this in another thread, so am posting here- sorry for the repeat!

Jodha has every right to protest against the wedding- she can't do anything about it but she can act out and heck, she should!
1) From childhood on she has hated Mughals- at this time period the Mughals were considered aliens and invaders- Akbar was the first Mughal born on Hindusthan soil. The rajputs for the most part, did not think that they were fighting against rivals- they thought they were fighting against people looking to destroy everything they stood for.
2) The hate filled atmosphere she has grown up in was such that her mother thought burning her would be a better solution than marrying a Mughal. Menavati has since changed her tune- not surprisingly because now there are three sons at stake here. She probably thought "Jodha going to Mughals" means that the Mughals win a war and since Jodha is married, they conquerors would carry her away. since that is no longer the case, for the sake of her sons she's willing to let go of her daughter. Lets remember that a simple maid wanted to burn herself alive because she was touched by the invaders- how much worse would it be for a princess?
3) She lost her fiance- Akbar's subordinate killed him. She may have been marrying someone else, but there is a difference between a Mughal Emperor and a Rajput prince.
Her parents raised her a certain way, to think a certain way, and now they for the sake of practicality are acting a certain way. It might be irritating to watch, but Jodha has every right to feel betrayed and protest. The fact that she is doing so is good- it shows she has fire and spirit- two qualities that attracted Jalal to her in the first place.

I agree with you...Infact these woman of 16th century were much stronger and tougher than some modern day woman ...The real Jodha went for a political alliance marriage and made Akbar agree to her terms and conditions and also making him fall in love with her...
All this while keeping her dignity intact...
And this is how a princess differs from a commoner...
Anyway each to his own.😆

some people think that that strength of women in chekhna chillana...shouting and all that... its not jodah anger and her grief that we are not questioning... there is so much on stake... she was shocked n walked away from mu dikhaee totally understandable but this over reacting ..burning dreass is so un decent behavior of princess infront of whole family ...infront of MA ,. infron of his father ...
no body is strong than jalal ... what bharmal did today when he said ...BUS 😆maryada todna mughlon ki adat hae... mughlon sae koi sambhand nhi ho sakta... jalal didn't shout back ...what he said gave chill to bharmal ...that is strongness not the cheekhna chillana

Honestly speaking...there is an immense difference b/w voicing your opinion and misbehaving...We cannot apply our 21st century thinking on a 16th century period drama.

And a 16th century princess would never behave like that...the society, the norms, rules and regulations were very different back then, and that is why i feel it was wrong for Jodha to react like that infront of her courtiers, family members and parents...Anyway,agreeing to a political alliance like this is so humiliating and heart breaking for them...Whatever the reason was that she reacted like that...she was not correct...

I also agree, that all the time its not easy to have a grip over your emotions, specially when you come to know that you are going to spend your life with someone you despise...If we think from our 21st century thinking, then her reaction is justified...But if i stand in the position of Bharmal who has so many soldiers and three sons at stake...all your honor, dignity and pride flies out of the window...and also that 'creepwa' Sharifuddin had his eyes on Jodha...

My point is only this much that her violent reaction was not what i expected...as the cv's are adding a lot of salt and pepper...whatever she burnt, might have been a reaction of something which she felt was wrong...but being in a position where you have a lot to lose, then all your anger and hatred just jumps out of the window...

I never meant that she should be submissive,or docile,or a "doormat "...she is a fiery princess ,and i like her that way...Making a man like Jalal bow down to your conditions,is also not a joke...but Bharmal also said that she was a 'sharp' and 'smart' Princess...and that is what her father expects of her,to understand him...that too at such a crucial time...

And if making such a point makes me 'regressive'...so be it...

I don't think your points are regressive, really. But for me, Ekta has gone so far from "normal and historical" when it comes to this serial, within the context of the show (in which Jodha is given an unprecedented amount of freedom for a Rajput princess) her reactions make sense- she has never hidden her emotions and she was angry about something that Jalal did- perhaps the letter came with the present and that was her answer?
Within normal historical standards? Her reactions would never have happened. But to be fair, even in dire circumstances people do foolish things because emotions take hold at that time. Logic need not apply...
But whenever I speak of Jodha I think of this Jodha, not the historical one. Besides, this Bharmal sends so many mixed signals (I will chop off this invalid's head vs. We are helping this pathan, and I will never bow to the Mughals vs. I am giving my first daughter away) its no wonder poor Jodha is confused😉
