Yes of course, Sara dear. And very much for the better, all things considered, even if I keep mourning his far too soft avatar till recently.

He was so awful and cruel in the first 2 episodes, cutting off the feet of that shoe thief, and suchlike, that I almost quit, feeling that they were distorting the character beyond all permissible limits. It opened on a Tuesday, so those were the Tuesday and Wednesday telecasts. Still, I decided to continue till Friday and by then, I was hooked!😉 Now I cannot leave even if I try!

Good Lord, aap bhi? How did you locate this one at all?

Thank you so much. I was quite irritated by what seemed like motivated criticism of Rajat, whom I had never seen before this, that I had to defend him, which was not at all difficult, as you can see!

Yes, Munni, I am absolutely sure he will make it to films and make it big there as well. He has everything any male star-actor might need; he just has to work out more and tone his physique to suit present day requirements.

His voice control and the way he uses his eyes are both unbelievable, and this came out in full in the scene I had covered in my recent Heartbreak++ post, the one with Jodha in her hoojra when she shoves him and he falls down,

I was so startled to see this nearly 6 month old post, my very first in this forum, back near the front of the forum index that I came to see what was happening. I was delighted to see so many new readers for this post; and so many very kind comments. Thank you, my dears.

How did you land up on this one after all this while?

I remember that Disha, whom I had got to know in the DKDM forum, where I was active for about 5 weeks, writing about one particular that ended in June this year, requested me to write here, and so I looked in, and saw all this ill considered criticism of Rajat. So I wrote this one, and all those who love him were delighted to have such a stout defence of their idol! I have since grown to adore the boy.

shyamala, toning of the body is not a big deal for him, i think he just loves food and he thinks by looking big and broad he gives that larger than life effect to the character of akbar as akbar had a similar physique..but for sure if he gets break in bollywood he will transform..!

You too, Sandhya? Thank you very much, my dear, but how did you land on this now?

Yes, I saw what Rajat could do right away; it was there in his eyes and his voice, plus he clearly had that one intangible asset: presence. As my mother, who adores him too, says always, he looks every inch a king. We are all lucky to be able to see him daily like this; once he crosses over into films, this luxury will be gone.

As for my older posts, I have a partial list, which I will PM you. I have not updated it since end August, and I should, really.

Wow aunty,

As I am relatively new to the forum I have missed your earlier posts. Is there a list or something? I would love to read them all.
You were bang on rajat so early. We all admire him after so many episodes and so many superlative performances. But you recognized his brilliance so soon! Excellent! !!

My dear Mandy,

You are absolutely right on both counts. I can't wait to see him on the big screen, but truth to tell, he will never get a role to match this one for sheer range and scope, which showcases him so brilliantly.

My dear,

What can I say but that I am delighted that you liked this one, my very first in the forum, so much? I enjoyed myself writing it, and the curious thing, now that I am re-reading if after nearly 6 months, is that it still holds up very well, doesn't it?

Some of the criticism, especially of his holding his hands behind his body as he walks, was due to complete ignorance of the period and how kings behaved. Some of it was a deliberate put down. Whichever it was, a strong refutation was needed. I am glad that those sorts of attacks died away soon.
