jalal trusts very few people in his life and very few of them resides closest to him among them are ruku then MA and to some extent khan baba...his equation with her started when both had no understanding of any equation ..the comfort level is very evident...she is that friend whom he can in today's day and age call up at 2 in night and speak his heart out ...and Ruku is encompassed in that affection with a knowledge that jalal is not capable of anything more..and thus she gets a shock when she realizes he has aheart and jodha rules it...only then will jalla and ruquaiya both realize the true definition of what they held and hold..till then everything is a mirage for both the couples..the only person who will truly have loved and lost will be sunshine and ruqaiyya

sun29 I agree with mostly on what u said. Yes, the inconsistency of purdah system, and language really need to be improved. I don't think people during that era ever use Tum as much used in the show. When Ruqaiya Begums uses "tum" with Jalal, it does seem jarring. I am just puzzled . I am almost puzzled out Jodha's parents have no problem with their daughter going out in the middle of the night to distribute gifts to prisoner, but have a problem with a boat ride. It seems to contradictory. If they not allowed them to go, than we would not have had Jodha Akbar scene too.😆One more puzzling thing with Ekta is Ekta has Kali Ma everywhere? I like that she drew two religions in the same frame. Instead of showing Kali mata, and Mosque. Maybe, it would have been better to shown their signs.

Sujamal's scene was good, yeah I agree...too bad there isn't much scope for him in the story at this point...lol

The inconsistencies are too many to name...the purdah system one has been a glaring one since the show started...women openly roam around in melas without pardah but will randomly go all "I need ghoonghat" for no rhyme or reason...

Also I found the "tum" and "aap" inconsistency in the Jalal-Ruq scene kinda jarring...they should stick to one thing...I understand they want to show the childhood friendship but it still doesn't make sense why she can't stick to either calling him only tum or just aap.

haan the tum and aap was another inconsistency ...hope they rectify it given the era ofthe love story ,these things do matter

about the purdah system the movie handled that part very well..and here from day one it is another inconsistency ,one moment no purdah another moment huge issue...the king is on tequillas i think😆

he is the man who send his daughter unescorted with this same man in the night to get blessings from prisoners and now he raises hell over a boat ride😕😆

and truly hope the story moves now...and jalal finally tells ruku about amer and i wonder will he tell her about jodha and the wedding preps start...and Jalal comes and takes away his dulhaniya

Well don't laugh ... But when he pulled her chin I was like no kekta ... People will kill u If u show them romantic , and thank god he just calls her Gatti ! 🤣
They have that comfort u are talking abt , but see ruq isn't too interested to mend his ways on the bigger level than not sleeping with shoes on ! 😛 this is where jodha will rise up above her by guiding him abt how to rule , and bring his heart back alive !
Today ruq ke dialogues again showed that her shrewdness is limited to harem politics only 🤔

And Jalal not telling her of jodha , this is what makes me believe he won't tell her of these plans ! And more that all this wedding will be a Mandap-groom swapping drama than a built up drama ! 🤓

if Jalal had managed to whisk her away from sunshine on that night and did his own coochie coo with her instead of the nain mattaka and jalal head de do thakur scene ,i would have turned a blind eye to it and praised maiyya for it 😆😆

@Anu- Jalaal Jodha bond is certainly more than friendship.Its a beautifully comfortable and adorable relationship.But switching bw Tum aap is Totally irritating.Also somehow I found Smiley's body language very awkward in that scene.I mean she seemed too stiff to me .I mean it was a private moment bw a husband and wife and wo aise dekh k let rahi thi ki if the director had asked her to measure the dimensions.Ek inch ki bhi galti nahi honi chahiye😆

Coming back to JA Gosh what was that crappy editing of the mosque and Mandir..Such divine sequence it could have been but Seriously itna ghatiya editing..matlab they even could not blend borders..

Khush, I seriously hope they will not the show the groom swapping drama. That is the dumbest thing I see on television. Than if we look at promo 2, you see Jalal telling Raja Bharmal can have his kingdom in return for Jodha as the price. By looking at that promo,and deceleration of war from Jalal's side, i don't think it will happen.😆I am hoping they handle the wedding track similar to the movie one.It was beautifully shot,.Usually during the wedding track, the production value increases, and it's a lavish affair. So with that one beacon of hope, I am really praying that wedding of JA will be grand, and lavish.Ekta u better not be cheap. I despised that wedding dress shown in the promos. Jodha better get a beautiful lengha.😡EK's costume designer herself said Jodha would wear more jeweleries, and heavier lenghas after her marriage .

Best part of the epi def the last part with Ruq and Jalal. I am very curious to see how things are b/w MA and Ruq as well.

The shoe thing though--very cute, and definitely foreshadowing. After all these years, Ruq can't get him to take his shoes off on her bed. But with Jodha we all know he's going to have to take his shoes off in her room/near her personal mandir. The shoe thing I believe will be big.

Also, just throwing this out there--I keep envisioning what it will be like when Jalal comes back to Agra once Jodha and he have been married and she's been installed in the harem. Last week we saw how of course the ladies are fighting over him, then Ruq makes her grand entrance and he watches her the whole time as she marks her power by walking all over the balcony while his eyes follow the whole time.

But what will it be like when Jodha is there? I think once Jodha is there, what might initially happen would be that she won't even show up-ha ha ha. And for the first time, instead of eye-locking with Ruq, Jalal will be too busy searching for Jodha. Another moment where Ruq will see the shift in the balance of power b/w her and Jodha. Who knows how the cv's will write it, but I kind of like this idea as I think it's very consistent with what has been shown of the characters thus far. B/c when you think about it, though Ruq and Jalal are close, mates, friends, etc. Ruq still has to come meet him half way to get his attention. She still has to try to keep him interested. Jodha on the other hand has never had to try with him--at least not so far. Their relationship has started with Jalal in pursuit of her, albeit as a trophy for now, but for more I suppose in the future.

Anyone else have an idea as to how that might play out?

actually you are spot on...the reason they showed all these scenes was firstly to show the power ruquaiya has over Jalal and secondly these same scenes will play once jodha enters and then we will see how the power shifts ,every scene will be played again but with jodha in the equation..even the food testing scene of MA i think...

Ruqaiya is comfortable in her role as his BFF,his wife and his empress ,there is no threat for her but with jodha's entry she will sense the threat and then you have half the harem ready to use it to thier advantage
