N 3rd, even Rajput rajas used to have a huge no. of wives at those times, so rajpup gharane mein shadi hoti to vi ye hona tha.

Well I've seen out n out -ive characters, where d actor playing it reciting all d time, "Mine is a grey role.. lots of shades.. more facets of my char will be seen later.." etc. etc. crap! ROFL. when d only shade I can see is pure black.
So not going by any interview ,will just watch d show n comment.

Yup Mac, the leads look very... "real" while portraying d hate track. :D

I went to Agra exactly a decade ago but I remember what the guides told us at fatehpur-Sikri !

Realistically , Jodha was Akbar's favorite as she gave him the First Boy heir ... And that too after a LOT of penance ! He was at the point where all thought Mughal rule would end due to the lack f Heir !

This is also highlighted in Mughal-e-aazam ! In the beginning they show how JA struggle for a kid ! 😛

This love story fantasy stems from THIS respect and love he had for jodha ! 😆

And Omg I was just thinking of it about the need of a neemat here as Jodha's aid ... And I was wanting to see Abdul as that ! Hope hope we get that ! 😳

@mac ! Anu is kind of right ! The movie is way too goody two shoes portrayal of Jalal ! 😆 they didnt even bother to show ruqaiya if not the queens after jodha ! mostly there are different interpretations of harem I have read ! Some address it as the king and his many queens' private quarters , while others refer to it as a concubine! 😳
And this Jalal looks as of he has no plans to marry her ! He might be shown to think of marrying her to insult her more if nothing else !

But yeah u are right abt jodha not being like devastated to know he has other wives ! Because even Rajputs/hindu kings married more than once in that era ! So she wouldn't be shocked but will face a lot of problems of envy when she becomes Jalal ki favorite! 🤣

LOL you guys, I think my point is getting a bit misunderstood here...I'm not saying that Jodha will be uncomfortable with the idea of being one of many wives...I understand that polygamy was a common practice in those years across royalty all over the globe...I'm not questioning that.

I'm just saying that reading about it and watching it in practice are two different things...lol...

In the case of MP, the focus isn't even on Udai Singh's equation with his different wives...it is all about Pratap and his equation with all the characters...Yes, Bhatiyani is Udai Singh's favorite but overall the show doesn't delve into the details of how those marriages work.

In JA's case, the very way in which this marriage will happen is different...these characters themselves are so different...I feel Ekta/the writers will have a lot to do with how the BASIS of these relationships are established...Yes, Jodha-Jalal's eventual love story is the prime focus...but the way his equations with his other wives are carried along is an interesting line to walk...lol

I guess I'm just curious to see Akbar's interactions with Ruqaiya and the rest of the family...then I'll be able to say more on this topic...lol
