As for the overall format, clearly this show was a hasty copy-cat effort to jump on the "some kind of reality show karna hai" bandwagon. Eliminating champions before challengers, for example, was moronic. The idea of having the champions select promotions was also ill-conceived, as there would be a conflict of interest leading to strategic voting. It was not thought out at all well.

The correct approach to the two-pool concept is eliminating challengers only, with promotions AND demotions in the champions group (plus an extra rule on the maximum number of times a champion could be demoted and still remain in the show among challengers.) Demotions can be based on audience voting, while promotions are based on the judges scores. Inviting guest judges each week (established singers, MDs etc) for this also, could randomize any established bias among the regular judges and add to the overall fairness of the show.

I agree with the duets with singers part complete disaster!

I think they should have brought new judges every week..
