If You Could Change The Format When We Had All Champs ..What format would you have chosen!!!

If you're asking about the second phase, after no Challengers were left, I see no reason to be innovative: the usual formula of one contestant being eliminated each week is as good as any. But a little more thought on themes might have helped, and, in the aftermath, I think the idea of duets with invited singers can be classed as a failure.

As for the overall format, clearly this show was a hasty copy-cat effort to jump on the "some kind of reality show karna hai" bandwagon. Eliminating champions before challengers, for example, was moronic. The idea of having the champions select promotions was also ill-conceived, as there would be a conflict of interest leading to strategic voting. It was not thought out at all well.

The correct approach to the two-pool concept is eliminating challengers only, with promotions AND demotions in the champions group (plus an extra rule on the maximum number of times a champion could be demoted and still remain in the show among challengers.) Demotions can be based on audience voting, while promotions are based on the judges scores. Inviting guest judges each week (established singers, MDs etc) for this also, could randomize any established bias among the regular judges and add to the overall fairness of the show.

I agree with the duets with singers part complete disaster!

I think they should have brought new judges every week..

The basic idea is that during the Two-Group Phase of the show (with two groups, Champions and Challengers), every week: (a) audience voting selects champions to be demoted down to challenger group; (b) judges' marking selects (i) high-scoring challengers to be promoted up to champion group; and (ii) low-scoring challengers to be eliminated from the show. Ideally, the panel of judges should consist of regulars and specially invited guests in some reasonable proportion (e.g. 3 and 2). Eventually, the challenger group will be depleted and the second single-group phase of the show will start.

There are details, of course, such as: (a) how many promotions/demotions each week, (b) how many times can a champion be demoted and still remain eligible for re-promotion later, etc.

The major differences from the JJWS show as it has been run are:

(a) eliminate challengers only while there are challengers left.
(b) prevent strategic voting -- in general, contestants should not be selecting other contestants, the conflict of interest is too obvious.
(c) increase the input of expert judging consistent with the constraint that top-notch expert judges for an entire run of the show will be hard to arrange.
