yes, they have actually gone down... vinit, himani used to be great... but now sounded average... but i guess they shall improve soon...

I hope they will practice more.......otherwise many of us will be dissappointed

i also felt the same.....

except prajakta...and the recent show svoi challengers...
no one was upto the mark.....

the way they answered also shows...how much they are not taking it seriously....

at the time of competiton these..contestants itself says the practice..riyaaz for 4-5 hrs...

and now they are not getting time.....sigh....

either they have gone bad...or maybe due to ur expectations have gone high since since the reality shows last year produced alot of good singers in saregamapa and voice of india which beats vinit and all the others u listed

Some of the singers looked like they were singing casually.Himani, Vineet, Debojit, Ujjaini were below par.Aishwariya stole the show in the first episode. He is a great performer but seems to have done good home work in singing too.Ishmeet and Toshi did a great job. Has not watched Indian idol before, so cannot comment on them.

There may be other things which may be contributing. The competition is tough because all of them are good singers.Even a song sung well may look average because of the level of the competition. It also depends on the choice of song.Performance element seems to have increased in contestants who have been used to doing stage shows and that may have brought their singing down.

I think we should hear them next week one more time before coming to a judgement..
We would be in a better position to tell who improved and who got worse then..

well i hvnt followd the first episode of this show but ill b following this now on cuz this show has many favs of mine...nd im really excited 4 it...btw yess hvnt watchd the 1st epi but did watch the the 2nd epi whr the champions performd...among them abhi, roopi nd ishmeet r my fav...nd i thought they improvd a looottt ...specially abhijeet cuz b4 he used 2 lack in confidence but afta watchin his perf. to dard-e-disco i think he has gain alot of confidence...im really impresssed...now cant say bout others as ill have to wait to see the challengers performances 😊

I did not think much of them. I think they have gone backwards in they singing department. Rest was OK.Too much on gloss less on substance.

I think Abhijit Sawant is a better singer today than when he was competing. I cannot imagine him singing a song like "Dard-E-Disco" when he was a competitor. He not only sung it well but gave a classical touch to it.

I have not followed the musical reality shows intently except FG.......but I personally felt that Amit sana, Abhijeet , Ujjaini , vineet etc were much better singers previously.......what say?

apart from abhijeet Sawant and rooprekha(she was a gr8 singer back then and still is now but have learned to be a bit more confident), i dont think anyone has improved much. like you said, they've all grown as performers but ONly as performers... they all have a lot to learn as singers.

or maybe we're being too harsh on them... we should at least wait couple weeks to see if they made those mistakes on purpose or were being too over-confident...

the recent winner and contestant from VOI haven't gotten head over heels yet maybe because they haven't been side-tracked... anyhow, we'll see thm in couple years and compare too😉
