I asked gpt. And he said before 1950 (ya 70 years ago 🤣) the Indian law allowed it. Even for Hindu families. And said that kings , and Lords in old days took multiple wifes.

Put the law aside. Does any of Hindu religions allow one man marry multiple wifes?

No..first marriage has to be annulled (again annullment is possible only under certain circumstances) or have to take divorce to remarry..
