Is Jhanak selfish and heartless ?

Ani time and again has accused J of being Berehem or heartless.Everytime Ani accused J of being heartless, Ani was wanting to have freedom to express feelings or do acts that are not morally right, being committed to someone else. J was just wanting Ani to remain committed to person he is going to marry. J did sense the attachment Ani has developed for her. J dislikes this emotional double timing of Ani. She does dislike her own feelings for Ani as well. Hence, J is not heartless in true sense.

It was a bit surprising when Choton said that J is selfish as she is not planning to come back. I feel she does prioritize her self- respect. She was getting humiliated time and again by few people in Bose house. However, she did give importance to them over people who genuinely loved her. She always wanted to leave bose house to avoid humiliation, but never wanted to stay there inspite of humiliation for the sake of people who love her immensely. I think it is selfishness in certain way as Choton said. It is when J will realize that she needs to ignore insults for the sake of love she gets, she will grow as a person.
