Finally, I can talk about Sanaya's performance!!

Can I say I love her! Like Sunara said, she made me proud by not letting anyone know about the injury. And the way she hid her pain seemed like she was just breathing hard from the performance. Had she not had that injury, she would have done well! I have noticed a lot of times she had trouble finishing up steps, mainly "thukas" on the right side of her body as she was injured.

Her honesty and sincerity has touched me from day 1 of MJHT days! And I am so glad that even at this stage in her career and especially in a competition like this where the best may be inclined to use a sympathy card, she did not even go there by a tiny step! So even more respect for her choosing the ethical route.

I'm so proud of you Sanaya. Keep working hard and we are always by your side! :)

As for the scores, I am content. Keeping my bias aside for Sanaya, I am glad she got an overall score of what she deserved. Of course, I am happy with 9 of Shahid but 8 was more appropriate. Really appreciate Shahid's gesture in the first episode. My only wish is for Sanaya to earn that 9 or 10 from Shahid solely on her dance when she performs next, and hope that she makes Shahid proud. At the same time, I am disappointed with Lauren's 7. What exactly is she judging the show by? Giving radhika--whose performance where we couldn't see any expression, where she was off sync, and where there was barely any dance gets a 10, but Sanaya a 7? 7 would have been justified if there was a valid reason, but she I seem to find it difficult to consider her credibility as a judge.

As for the choreography, loved the belly dancing and robotics. In addition to romantic, contemporary dance, I would love to see her dancing on passionate, Latino dance. She would do amazing. You know, Kavitha's choreography and song was excellent. Would have loved Sanaya to perform on that. She is soo graceful and if she didn't have any injuries, Sanaya would have taken that performance to the stars and moon!

Things that Sanaya and Jai should improve on:

Both: Having fluid lifts.

Sanaya on completing her steps (injury can be part of it as I have seen her dance before). Everything else is there.

Jai: Choice of song, like Ganesh said. Yup, Chitya Kaliya would do great. In addition to that, a choreography that blows our mind away--avoiding lifts that look awkward when executed--like the last one. Or maybe it was planned well, but something went wrong in the performance as Sanaya said. I think this guy has a potential. Hopefully, he will surprise us with his choreography and creativity next week.

"Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8" has begun and the stars have set the stage on fire with their dance performances. The judges are impressed, so are the viewers, but there's a certain contestant who, despite having sustained injuries, have won hearts nationwide with her charm and grace.

Sanaya Irani, who isn't a trained dancer, has emerged as one of the favourites and her fans have been rooting for her on social media. Here are some tweets:

Although he managed a 32 for her debut performance on "JDJ8", her spirits weren't marred. A few days before the dance reality show went on air, she said it was a learning opportunity for her as she isn't much of a dancer.

"It has been a good journey till date. My first act wasn't impressive but that's all right. I have a few things to learn from it. It's a new look for the audience since they have only seen me in saris and salwars. This is how the real Sanaya is," The Asian Age quoted her as saying.
