Ashish Chowdhry is well aware that he isn't one of the strongest dancers on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. And his choreographer's injury just brings more bad news. But Ashish is unperturbed. We spoke to the actor about his strategy to remain on the show and more. Excerpts:

What was your reaction when your choreographer got injured during the act?
I was shaken. I was getting used to her and the tuning was nice. The worst thing is that she is a professional dancer and makes a living out of it. I felt bad for her. I'll feel better when I see her walking and dancing again.

How is it working with your new choreographer Falon?
Falon is an excellent dancer. Vrushali (first choreographer) appreciated her too. I think we will make good dancing partners. Let's see.

What made you say yes to the show?
Initially, I had turned down the offer. But it was my son and Karan Johar who made me nod in agreement. When we were discussing it at home, my son came and told me that I never let him give up on Play Station. How then can I back away from a real-life situation? That was enough motivation for me.

After winning Fear Factor, are reality shows something that you look forward to?
Reality shows give you knowledge, experience and an opportunity to overcome your weaknesses. Dancing has always been my weakness. I refused to go on the sets whenever there was a dance sequence in a film. So I'm all set to conquer that. But my first love will always be fiction shows.

From B'wood to television, how has the journey been?
With experience, I have learnt that TV is more difficult and aggressive whereas B'wood is relaxed. TV provides better communication with the audience. I was never great in B'wood but I have a spectacular fan base on TV. Earlier I wasn't getting roles of my choice. But, after this show I am thinking about taking up a fiction show.
