Liked the episode for the most part but then it started to go downheel from Subhreet's performance with crying and other "fluff" with Shahid.
What's up with the scores?
Radhika and Subreet were way overscored.
Radhika's performance was a visual treat, but only technological wise. Otherwise, I didn't see much dancing. Plus they were off sync couple of times. How come no one noticed/commented? And what the hell was Lauren thinking when she gave her a 10?
Don't even know what they will do with Simar. They already used her in the intro scene as Simar v.s Deepika. I'm dreading tomorrow's episode with there gaganess over Deepika/Simar. Lol, I wouldn't be surprised if Karan's mom "watches" the show and talks to him about it! LOL. And probably her rona dhona about managing two shows. Gosh, if it's so hard, than don't do Jhalak. You might get an offer next year.
Subhreet: there was too much of sympathy. Overall her perfromance was okay. She truly is an inspiration, but when she is competing in a dance show at this level, she should be judged with the same measuring stick. Giving her a ten was too much. Especialy when her upper body with exception to hands is very stiff. I understand she can't really be flexible when she is standing, but what about when she is sitting or when Diwakar is supporting her? So 3 judeges giving her 10 is too much. If her performance continues at this level, she may not go far as sympathy votes can only take you so far.
Faisal was my favorite. With that kind of prop, it's probably lot harder than it looks. He is a great dancer and is one of the contestants whom I will look forward to seeing--along with Sanaya of course, my #1 reason. Felt Faisal's scores were right, maybe 37 would do.
Shamita came close second, but Shamita was a little underscored. Especially when we compare her performance with Radhika's. All her moves were crisp and clear and liked almost everything except the moonwalk. She can improve on that.
Vivian and Mohit's dance choreography was about the same quality and they were scored about right. Vivian probably should have scored a point or two less considering his energy went down at the end whereas Mohit's was constant throughout the performance. They both seem hardworking types of contestants and hopefully they will improve with time. Let's face it, Vivian will probably go far in the competition due to voting, and if I am watching him, I would like to see improved vivian than what I saw today.
Judges:
Shahid: He seemed more like a host than a judge. I like Shahid, but this episode was Shahid overload. It seemed like he was everywhere where Manish needed to be. I missed Manish eventhough, he was there. Does it make sense?
Karan: Probably one of the best judges. Though wasn't happy with his marks and Subhreet sympathy promotion.
Ganesh: Was he even there? Maybe he also got overshadowed with Shahid overload. He is supposed to be a technical judge. I'm surprised sync issue went unnoticed by him in Radhika's performance.
Lauren: Less said the better. She seems pretentious as a judge. Can we not replace her with Malaika Arora Khan? Have watched Malaika in NB 1 & 2, Zara Nachke Dikha, couple of episodes of JDJ, and last 2 seasons of IGT and I love her. Her scoring and comments are on the mark.
I really hope the scores were like this because it's a first episode. Tomorrow is again going to be like today on the score front, but let's hope it gets better from next week.
