I am follower of the show from the first season and I loved the concept and it was quite unique unlike other dance reality shows.
But nowadays I feel its the wrong judgement or the format which is making it annoying to watch. Sorry to say this but the bharathnatyam act yesterday was pathetic. There was no bharthnatyam in it. It only had the bharthnatyam costumes but nothing else. If it was presented in some other name it was ok to watch but this was really annoying.
And the tragic part is the judgement. If any normal dancer, you dont need Remo or Madhuri to judge it; or even a common man who really have watched even one bharatnatyam dance on stage would never say it was near to anything that can be called bharatnatyam. And it did not deserve anything more than 5/10.
And the comments which says this was done in just one week, sorry but when they judge other western dance forms doent that also happen in the same one week and that too by some non dancing celebrities? I am not expecting a person to learn it in one week and give to to perfection if they do what they are capable of then judge it accordingly.
Why is this happening you need to think!!!!
This post is not to bash any contestant or to make the fans unhappy. But this is the truth atleast according to me.
I like all the contestant and love to watch their performances, but you should have a fair treatment towards all the contestants.
PS. I am a Drashti fan and hope me making the post will not create another 100 hate topics on her. This is my opiniion on the show format/judgement and an act. and not the hate for any contestants.

The judging on this show has always been off...Salman Drashti have got 30s for medicore acts and rip offs of Salman's past perfomances..and the wheelchair act they did last week, it wasnt even worth 20 yet got 24
coming to Lauren, the only problem for me was her stiffness ..and Punit lost his balance in the end..u cant expect pure bharatnatyam in one week..what they did was good enough considering all the contraints..and I feel learning Bharatnatyam in one week is much more tougher than learning western dance forms..and sorry to say but apart from Sana noone else has learnt much of western forms in this show..Drashti is at the exact same position where she was at the start of the show..no growth nothing..all she did all these weeks is lifts and more lifts..I am not bringing her in this topic cos u are her fan but because u said that non dancers are learning western forms in one week..sorry but Drashti and Shaan arent..and kids are repititive..so if these guys an score 30/30 for repetitive perfomances, Lauren can for sure score 28 for her effort and Punit's choreography

I am not saying that Drashti or Shaan are doing perfect western forms, because I am no one to comment. I have seen this western dances in indian shows only. So I donno how exactly it should be. And I feel they are getting the scores not ( 30) based on their act adn no one gets the comments like awesome/awestruct or something like Lauren got for this bharatnatyam act. I am an Indian have seen many bharatnatyam dance performance even learned it in my child hood. So felt really bad when on national telivision the judges going gaga over a performance which was no were near to Bharatnatyam.
Thanks that you atleast agreed there were some flaws. I also agree that the kids always show more lifts than dance, and I think yesterday it was pointed out.

ur absolutely correct, all contestants shld b treated equally, theyv same time period to rehearse n prepare!

but lemme say smthg i strongly feel, this isnt related to any contestant on jdj nor just for this show but all other dance shows celebs take part in! i absolutely hate it when they start giving comments like they r not trained, they do multiple shows, have injuries, never tried classical etc etc.. these participants know what they signed up 4, either do it or opt out n quit giving excuses!

I'm sorry but I really don't know how one can comment without having even watched the performance.

I think that everyone on this show has been butchering dance forms. The Pasa Doble that some contestants present, the Salsa that some contestants try to show - none of those dance forms are proper. And PD, Salsa, etc. are dances we are exposed to; at least, these contestants (except maybe Shaan) are exposed and have previously done these dance styles..- in clubs, in movies/TV shows, in shows, etc.

Bharatnatyam is something that Lauren has never done. She was basically challenged by the public so she gave it her best and presented a dance style that the Indian public wanted her to do. (Even people around me who were watching Jhalak commented that why are they making only Lauren do an Indian style when the others aren't doing it?). Her efforts should be appreciated as she has demonstrated that she can do any dance style - and is the best dancer on jhalak.

The dance was amazing!!! The postures she held were beautiful and the expressions were bang-on. I agree that the softness usually seen in Indian dance forms wasn't there but like commented on, this is something we can't expect her to understand (as she doesn't put on a maang teeka or make a chooti), this not being her life-style.

IMO, the act was very entertaining and the scores were fair as Remo and Madhuri scored on the technique and KJo scored on the overall effect.

i agree to u
i wil not criticise lauraen dat much
in bharatnatyam lifts is a strict no no
how cum punit allowed it.u cant make fun of indian dance forms.c is quite stiff,,DD have her weakness
now bcoz its so much tym gone now even we audiences though i am hardcore DD fan bt i love laurens performnace bt c is too fast and stiff at tymes.
audiences wanted bharat natyam not a mix
how can madhuri-remo and karan missed d lift part.and karan gave him 10.😡

at tymes i also felt dar dd s sume 30 were not justified, chanel presure and all is done,c and shaan are the most biggest stars of the show,is sanaya has cum up dis season pata nehi log aur kya kya bolne lagte, her shpw created hysteria worldwide

bt pls pls agre dat lauren act had so so many faults, not at al 28
its a 24 one
lifts and stiffness in bharat natyam, kochipuri etc not at al acepted.i have seen dese kind of performances several tymes

totaly agre wid u
specaily madhuri and remo didnt point out the lift section it was not a mix dnace so how cum lifts
in bharat natyam
it was a shame, when even a lift goes wrong remo would go mad at him,and now he gave 9 and didnt point out the lift one
i am damn sure the chanel wala is doing politics, now even lauren have a fan base
disgusting
and karan giving 10 was pathetic
these guys have lowered the jhalak juging, and dis stands true for sonali-sumanth and dd to at tymes(i am grt fan of hers ,bt at tymes dey were partial 2 her)

bt lauren is 2 stiff and remo correctly pointed dat dat c was dpoing it lyk 1-2 -3 4 steps
shame on karan johar for gving dat act 10.
wen mistake is clearly visible even a 10 year old can point out,
