Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 7 Judge Maksim Chmerkovskiy: "I Asked Madhuri Dixit To Participate In DWTS!"
Ukrainian choreographer Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who will be the fourth judge on celebrity dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 7, says it was a priviledge to share the panel with actress Madhuri Dixit. The 34-year-old winner of 18th season of American television series Dancing with the Stars, who shot for his first episode on the Indian version of the show, Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 7, said all the judges were nice to him.
"Madhuri is just amazing. It was a privilege to sit beside her and judge. Remo and Karan are great too. These are people, who know what they are talking about. All were very nice to me and made me feel comfortable," Chmerkovskiy said in an interview.
The choreographer did not know the 'Dhak Dhak' girl and even asked her to participate in the show next time. "I did not know she was a Bollywood actress. When I posted my selfie with her on Twitter, it got so many comments and then I called my mother who told me that Madhuri is a big Bollywood superstar," the new Jhalak 7 judge said.
Chmerkovskiy performed a little jig with the dancing diva and two contestants, Shakti Mohan and eight-year-old Akshat Singh on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 7. "Shakti is brilliant. And that little kid Akshat is great too. I was also impressed by Sophie. She did a beautiful job," Maksim said, adding that he finds Kiku Sharda's Palak interesting.
"That's (Palak) a crazy idea. I don't know how he does it. Hats off to him," Maksim said in praise of Kiku. The ace choreographer feels Jhalak.. is very different from Dancing with the Stars, especially in terms of technicality. "There are many differences. Our show is more about how technically correct the performance is, but Jhalak is about presentation, how beautiful it looks. It is lighter, easier and more about entertainment," he said. PTI
