'Will Perform On Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 7 As Kiku After A While, Not Palak': Kiku Sharda
Kiku Sharda, who is dancing away to glory as 'Palak' in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 7, reveals that he may eventually bid adieu to his as his Comedy Nights With Kapil avatar, and contest as himself on the show.
"The show wants Palak to participate. My character has got its own individuality after Comedy Nights with Kapil. People recognise me as Palak. I'm quite happy that Palak has attained an identity, but Palak has three to four signature moves. I cannot showcase just those on the Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 7 stage since it's a hardcore dance show. The tasks cannot be taken lightly." Kiku said about his Jhalak stint.
"I may not do the whole show as Palak. With time, I'll get out of Palak's get-up and perform being Kiku. All the contestants are judged technically. I learn and practice different dance forms with my choreographer Kruti. I'll be practising the Latin form of dance, which I have never done in my life," said the popular comedian.
Chances are, that the channel too, was part of this decision to bid Palak goodbye from Jhalak, as it reduces versatility and may bring in more restrictions in choreography.
He also adds that he prefers being known as an actor, rather than a comedian. "I have been working in the industry for the past 11 years. I would loved to be called an actor, and not comedian." Kiku says.
Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 7 is Kiku's fourth TV show besides Comedy Nights With Kapil, as a result of which, Kiku sacrifices a lot of his sleep. He is currently playing Akbar in the new show Har Mushkil Ka Hal: Akbar-Birbal and does small stints for F.I.R alongside TV actress Kavita Kaushik. However, he says that Comedy Nights is his main priority.
