First I am big fan of Mahesh and I liked the way he took graceful EXIT after Jadeja.
DANCING is always tied up with GIRLS (there are few exceptions) as GIRLS can make nice delicate moves which GUYS often lacks... so this factor was against Mahesh from day one.
He really moved himself to last three is a big accomplishment and as rightly said by him it would not have been right to be in final where Mona and Shweta way ahead of him in dancing skills
Way to go Mahesh .... we will miss you.
