Hey everyone! Okay, so I was browsing through YouTube for last night's episode and stumbled upon something very strange for everyone watching Jhalak on Sony India. Of the parts uploaded on YT, two major chunks were edited out in the actual TV telecast I had watched, and since one of them relates very majorly to what is to come next week, I just thought I'd share it with those in India who only watched last night's telecast on TV. 😊
The first thing they unceremoniously edited out was the first part of the choreographer perfomances Madhuri requested, skipping straightaway to when the judges were brought on stage to join them. Before that, each of the choreographers did a solo portion on stage, which we really ought to have been shown since it was such fun...This was still understandable in some ways, but why in heaven's name they edited out the second bit I'm about to mention, is completely beyond me. 😕
At the end of the episode, after the Performance Of The Day had been announced, Sumeet and Mona asked the judges what they wanted the contestants to do next week. The judges said that this time they're going to put their hands up and lay off, and instead of them the contestants themselves will throw challenges at each other. Each contestant was then asked who they wanted to challenge, and with what. The final list of challenges for next week, then, has turned out as follows:
Mahi and Savio : Floor Contemporary, challenged by Yana and Salman.
Yana and Salman : Indian Classical, challenged by Ankita and Nishant.
Ankita and Nishant : Charlie Chaplin Style, challenged by Mahi and Savio.
Chang and Marischa : Robotic Popping and Locking, challenged by Sushant and Shampa.
Sushant and Shampa : Lindy-Hop without any concept, challenged by Chang and Marischa.
Looks like it's going to be an interesting week. Wonder what the second day theme will be, too...

Cheers! 😃

Yana and Salman doing classical would definitely be interesting, yes. And as far as Sushant and the Lindy-Hop goes, I personally don't love it as a dance form, but I'm sure he can do it. If nothing else, at least the amount of energy he's got on the floor might help him here, instead of hindering him like it did in Jazz. I suppose it all depends on the choreography, more so this time because Chang's forbidden them a concept or story too. Let's see how they do. 😊

Lindy hop is something like jazz and tapping mixture. Had performed once in school .

The Lindy-Hop's supposed to be a bit of an amalgamated dance form of the 1930's or so. It's got bits of jazz, step dancing, and the likes. I'm not too sure of all the technicalities but whenever I've seen it, if I put it in the most crude terms, it's looked to me like a twofold more pumped up, and jumpy version of Jive. It's good when done well, disastrous if messed up. 😳

Oh yes. . And as far as I know. Classical should be Yana's weakest point . She needs to work really hard to impress Madz .😳
