I don't think it's 'fake' per se. I think instead of coming off as someone with an US accent, she tries to speak with the Indian accent considering that she's in India for a while. that's why she gets confused between the two accents sometimes. either way, she doesn't sound fake to me.

it can't be fake..reason can be her school going children.. since she is from film industry it is easy to correct the accent, and nothing wrong in that..😃

fake is the last word comes when u are taalking 'bout her accent.. thats totally indian I agree sometimes when u stay at some place for long (she is been in US since many years) you tend to get the touch of the accent, and more than copying, its to convey ur thoughts to natives without any difficulties

Even though I agree with you that her accent is fake but I don't mind...I think its her style to pronounce the words in the typical american accent...and it doesn't matter that she's been living in America for 5 yrs...a person's accent can change normally till their high school or college days...it doesn't change after that so living for 5 yrs in US doesn't matter.

I don't think its fake Chits ji, but it seems extremely forced! I'm guessing she's confused between the two accents and it comes out sounding really forced and awkward.
