Do you all think JDJ should have theme weeks?

This is just a random post but I have noticed that JDJ does not seem to have specific themes mostly. It did have international form of dancing as a category but most of the times, contestants pretty much pick whatever they want and dance on that.
If themes are picked for each week, then maybe contestants will be evaluated on the same scale. Or if you dont agree with themes then what can be another evaluating factor that can be used to grade the contestants?
I see that next week is going to be based on the 70's or 80's era, so perhaps the show is leading more toward theme rounds in order for everyone to be judged on the same scale.

I think theme week is really good idea
bcos even I was thinking that, too that everyone is choosing what they want and show is leading no where!

and apart from theme dances, we should have group dances, too!
only few contestant dancing as a group or only choreographer or mixed!
group dances...just like they had on wild-card entry round

ps: nice topic btw...sorry cant think of any theme right now!
will get back to u soon!

Thanks bloodline and komal for your views.

Even I feel that JDJ is not appealing this season as it was the previous seasons. Perhaps the creatives should focus more on the show's concept than collecting gossip.😆
Theme week and group dances may be able to grasp the viewers back to the show.

I liked d blindfolded n elastic bands episode....but d last episode theme was not that clear....props can make things more interesting....they can also try some folk n Indian dance forms along with d international dance forms...solo rounds is also a must 2 make things more interesting....

What we deff need is some sort of consistency so that everybody isn't just doing what they feel like...and yes, like you said...it also gives some sort of standard to judge equally...

I can barely recognise any dance forms this year and thats a shame really...They should have limited each week to a dance form or atleast 2 so they can do one this week and the other the next week or something like the original basically and it would have been much more enjoyable and a fairer contest.

Theme weeks is a very good idea 👍🏼........in previous seasons i liked the concept that each week 2-3 particular dance forms were selected ......and 2 or 3 participants danced on the same form.......i think that way the judgment would have been better cause there would have been a particular scale on which the performances could be measured 😉

it would be great to have themes in JDJ.. i love learning about different ethnic groups and their cultures, artforms and outfits and of course dancing..

would love to see contestants dance wearing various ethnic outfits as well

like dhoti kurta etc

i just hope self proclaimed hot guy Karan Singh Grover doesn't shy away from wearing something like a lungi

heck even Saif has them in his wardrobe

Ditto! I can hardly recognize any of the dance forms either. I think that if some consistency is shown on JDJ then firstly more fairness will be provided and also the audience who watch it for dance will enjoy it throughly also.
