Our very own JDJ is filled with "mirch and masala".
Even when there is no "Mirch and masala" the channel's editor will edit scenes and make it look and seem like a big drama!!
I know that they do that for entertainment value but why spoil a person's appearance just to make some "mirch and masala"?!?!
For Bhagyashree they have showed her as an attitude girl. You might have seen the scene in the WC episode where Bhagyashree and her choreographer were talking about how people were saying that they like everyone except Bhagyashree as she is an attitude girl etc etc.
There are many sides of a person, good, happy, attitude, complaining, funny etc etc. Then why just show one side of the person just to create drama?!
Second of all Gahaur. Yeah you might just go like "uff" after you hear Gahaur's name, well guess what! She is also a human being and she has also different personality traits as all of us!
The channel had chosen to show Gahaur's "complaining" side to the viewers, you can notice that they channel has rarely shown Gahaur's funny and sweet side while showing the videos, AV's.
Yeah she wants to win so as everyone else in the show but why just show Gahaur's ambitiousness and not the other contestants?!? Everyone must've had complains and might still do, but why not show it?
There are many sides of a person, good, happy, attitude, complaining, funny etc etc. Then why just show one side of the person just to create drama?!
For each and every contestant the show had brough some controversy.
For Karan they tried to bring some"lovey dovey" connection between him and his choreographer but that masala soon stopped as I belive that Karan told the show to stop it. Karan said in one of his interview that he should say something about it. And then there is Parul's controversy and all the other contestants etc etc.
It is absolutely dissapointing to see how low can a channel go just for TRP's. Well yeah thats the whole point, make the show popular but cant a show be made popular because of the show itself?! Why do they have to make up controversies and spoil the contestants apppearance to the viewers??!?

I agree with you.
They all do it for Mirch Masala and then wash their hands.
They show the AV's the way the want to make the celebrity's image look like.

"...make the show popular but cant a show be made popular because of the show itself?!"

I like the essence of your post 👍🏼

Channel and the show should give all the freedom to the judges and the participants.

I am sure the three judges are very talented and intelligent and if given proper freedom, they will surely judge fairly.

Similarly, participants are the 'celebrities'....they should be given due privacy as well as respect in the show. Like you mentioned above, the show should raise its own standards by bringing quality in terms of presentation, clothes/costumes, judgment, celebrity guests and honor the participating celebrities instead of spoiling their image and providing false perceptions about them to the audience.

I would blame the channel but after reading some posts on this forum it's the people. it's not their fault. People need mirch masala. they need entertainment. They can't have a decent show with pure honesty. who cares about dance? its about all the extra things that go on because backstabbing, romance, crying, comedy in movie and serials are not enough.

Shame on people for wanting it and editors for making it that way. everytime i hear Gauhar bashing I say to myself is people really that dumb to fall for this.

Even though I'm the holy saint and saviour of India-Forums, I bow in respect to you for your EXCELLENT post n0sh 👏 👏 👏

I could not have made those points any better myself. It's clear that the channel have picked on certain contestants and presented them in a negetive light. In the montages before the dances, they can show pretty much anything from the past week of practicing - and there HAS to be good and fun things that happen with EVERY contestant... but in the case of Bhagyashree ji, she got a negetivity and nothing else.

I find editting like that to be very underhand. I'm happy about Gauhar being the winner of this round, because she really did deserve it... but as far as the show goes, I'm dissapointed that the makers are still making efforts to create controversy.

It's a dance show, and so why can they not just focus on the dancing?!

God bless.

True, It ant fun with a decent honest show. Yes people need mirch masala, then there should be the "true" mirch masala. Not edited fake stuff. They shouldnt show negative stuff, but like show the tension of competition or something. But not something that ruins the contestants image. They should have their privacy and dignity for Gods sake.

I am not sure about the US show because I haven't seen it but I have seen UK's strictly come dancing and they do not add mirch masala to create drama. Yes, the judges have their banter and argue but it does not go beyond that. And constestants are not used to create drama. But it is sad to see this happening on JDJ.
It just goes to show that they think the desi viewers are fools and that they are not intelligent enough to appreciate dance alone. Frankly speaking, the makers of the show are the biggest fools because they do not have faith in the audience. Previous seasons did very well with high trps, that too WITHOUT the drama. Why is it that this season is not doing so well, despite interesting personalities?
I am also dissapointed with the editors of the show. Not only are they using contestants in this crazy trp game, they are also taking the viewers for a ride.
