'Gauhar is a great dancer'

Says KOENA MITRA, as part of an April Fool's prank on the sets of a reality TV show

Koena Mitra was recently involved in a staged April fool episode of the TV reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. As part of the prank, she was first introduced as a wild card entry. Then she got into a fiery conversation with Gauhar Khan, who is one of the contestants.
"I had to act and I did it. I'm a person who generally doesn't keep any grudges against anyone. I have no problems with Gauhar and I'm openly telling you that she is the best dancer on the show. My best wishes are with her. I hope she wins it," Koena says who found it difficult to act snooty and throw attitude at the contestants as she says she is not anywhere close to that in real life.
"I was quite apprehensive when I was approached with the offer. I knew throwing attitude to create tension among the participants could lead to controversies as well. I was aware that even the participants would give it back to me. So it was a bit difficult for me as I'm a very friendly person otherwise," says Koena. She adds, "Nevertheless, it was fun. It was great to see all the participants voting me out. I could see such a relief on their faces when the prank was revealed to them."
