Voting - Talent or popularity?

Hi guys,

Personally, I think it should be done on talent. This is a reality show.. The public should be voting on who's more talented and consistent than who they admire most as a celebrity.

That's the problem with TV stars.. They usually win most shows like these because they are popular on the small screen. They are watched everyday and have solid fan bases. Whereas, other celebs, which are not well known, are overshadowed by the TV stars, despite having most talent e.g. Season 1 and 2. Will history repeat itself?

But then again, it's too early to make a judgment on it.

not only Karan, but i think there are a few more people who will definitely stay longer, because of popularity..

it's one thing that people 'should' vote on talent, but that is unfortunately not the case most of the time.. people will vote for their favourites.. and of course, it gives them the advantage of improving with time which some of the other contestants don't.. it's a grey area, i'd say.. but of course, i am sure that Karan will improve as you can tell by his body language that he has the potential to improve.. then of course, everyone will say that we knew he had it in him.. this is also a case with a few more celebs..

however, i do feel that celebs who are more popular get that undue advantage.. people like Mohinder, Ugesh, Baichung, and Anand Raj who are least popular (just my observation) will not get that advantage due to fewer fans and even if they have the potential to improve, we'll never find out..

Popularity is the key basis since it the elimination is on the basis of audiences' vote.

Popularity will always win - and this i am saying purely based on the reality shows i have seen till now be it dance or singing competitions, season 1 shweta salve should have won but mona won because of her huge fan base and the same happened with sandhya but prachi won jhalak ( ps - i thought original winners did deserve to win because they worked as hard as anybody else)
