and given that we are having this heart to heart,. let me also say that its fans like you who go about trying to prove to one and all that PV is a better show than GHSP and that GC is the greatest thing since sliced bread as Yash that have lost GC many fans .. you well know this coz u and ur inability to take another person's view is the reason why pixie and i never visit the PV forum!! @enchanted...GC is getting the max votes in JDJ coz he once played MSK...not coz he is today playing Yash!! Actually, it's due to neither Yash nor MSK. GC himself said in twitter just yesterday that he is not any of his character. He's Gurmeet, and he's getting the votes because of his own merit. People who have never watched any of his three shows are voting for him because they think he's talented in JDJ, so please don't insult GC's talent by saying that MSK is giving him votes. MSK is only a character he's played, whereas it's GC who's doing all the dances. to all your other points i agree to disagree coz we have diff points of view and we both are entitled to our views. Diff shows appeal to diff audiences so lets leave it at that. However, lemme say here that GHSP had universal appeal ...it was not catering to teenie boppers as you have implied... it was one show that brought together ppl of all ages, diff walks of life and perspectives together on a single platform coz it catered to one universal emotion-Love. We had NRIs who didnt speak hindi, learn the lang coz they wanted to follow the show, non indians following it and requesting us for english subtitles ( there was group of gals who translated religiously every nite) , people who have left their regular jobs and taken to writing, other creative pursuits so inspired were they by the show, some have gotten together and opened of websites ( RM is a result) coz they were so in love with the show...only one other show has followed suit and thats IPK-from the same stable and made on the same model as GHSP Geet may have been a hit among young audiences, but it lacked TRPs because it did not appeal to the older adults, whereas Gurmeet's other two shows appealed to the whole family. Since you're going on about Geet's greatness, let me tell you that Ramayan was no less, and neither is Punar Vivah. Geet fans may not have known about Gurmeet during Ramayan because they're not interested in mythology, but that doesn't take away the fact that it was a hit in many households. You say NRIs learned hindi just so they could watch Geet. That's really great and i'm glad GC's show got that sort of popularity, but many non-Hindu families followed Ramayan despite it being a Hindu show. People touched Gurmeet and Debina's feet whenever they saw them outside the sets, connecting them with God, and some ardent devotees of Lord Ram even sent Gurmeet money as dakshina. :P If this is not popularity, tell me what is. I'm not disputing Geet's popularity, but it really irks me when Geet fans put down Gurmeet's other shows to make Geet seem like the best thing that ever happened. You may think so and you're entitled to your opinion, but Gurmeet's fan base doesn't include just Geet fans. Ramayan fans and Punar vivah fans make a large portion too, and now he's gotten new fans due to JDJ as well.

I know which polls he won during GHSP! I am talking about a poll which wasn't organized on FB, and wasn't voted by online audience, only by ppl in the real world, or "aunties" as u call them😃. If we from PV forum and PV fb page which has more than 32000 likes before the show has completed 6 months had known of the poll and voted, then u can imagine the result.

May be he lost 1000 online fans who liked him and still love him as MSK alone but he cant go on playing MSK all throught his life he has to grow as an actor and he has gained another 1500 offline and new online fans for playing Yash many who didnt know him well and this I know from the kind of people I have been meeting up with recently from smaller cities and metros too. The world is not restricted to just bigger cities or the foreign countries with educated and intellectual classes alone, in India its the smaller cities and villages too which matter which are masses and yes the same new fans are now watching GHSP and wondering how he could excel in such diverse roles and are now also voting for JDJ too.

I didnt say anything against GHSP...It remains one of the most beautiful shows for me,esp its initial months. I have been its fan so I know how popular it was,among different groups. And I didnt say it catered to teenie boppers, but yes it was certainly more popular amongst youth,and I see nothing bad in that. Of course different shows appeal to different audience. PV has its own audience,and Geet has its own,so no need to compare or put down any. I loved GC in both.

And then the matter of GC getting votes due to MSK. Even if it is,what's wrong in that? He portrayed MSK and portrayed it brilliantly. So he has earned those votes with his acting. Many Geet fans totally boycotted GC when his new show started. Its their wish. And those fans wont be voting for him. However there were many fans who loved GC as an actor/celeb even after the show ended and continued to support him. I am one of them. Its good that I like his new show and character too,but even if it wasnt the case,he would have continued to be my fav actor. And I am not doing any favour to him. He earned it. WHy do you make it sound like fans are doing a favour if they support their fav celeb. Let me give you an example. I loved Rati Pandey's acting as Nupur. And I loved Nupur's character too. Now she is doing another show,which isnt exactly my favorite. But Rati continues to be my fav actress and I would support her. If I only loved Nupur, I would have stopped bothering with Rati as soon as MJHT ended. But I love her as an actor too. So there! Hope you get my logic.So those Geet fans who are still supporting him are Gurmeet fans too,for they appreciate his acting. And those who loved only MSK's character, without any liking for the actor,would have stopped voting for him,as soon as he took another character. So whatever votes he is getting are fair and square,and from audience who appreciate him as an actor,whether their fav characters be Ram,MSK or Yash.

As for IF ranking, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that teenagers and young adults rule the place. Had the ranking been dependent on TRP ratings and how many videos online get viewed rather than how many comments or views a celebrity gets in their profile (which is a really stupid way of determining ranking IMO), the rankings would have been vastly different today. Teenage girls are very fickle. They switch from one celebrity to another in a split second and many Gurti fans who were angry that Geet got shut down immediately became Sarun fans. This does not determine an actor's popularity AT ALL, and neither do facebook polls because not everyone votes on them. I don't vote on them because I find them childhish and immature. In fact, I find polls in general a very bad way of determining someone's popularity because it does not reach all of India's television viewing audience, so how can it be called accurate?

Anyway, do'nt be scared about GC's popularity now, dear, it's increasing everyday and as a GC fan, I'm sure you're happy about that despite which of his shows you like.👍🏼

I think PV is the best... there are others who feel Ramayan is his best show... let's not jump at each other's throats because we think differently... u can continue to support msk... others might be supporting Yash or Ram... and others like me support Gurmeet the person... it doesn't matter... at the end of the day these are different faces of one person - Gurmeet Choudhary...
