Renuka unperturbed

Reports of Sony's three primetime serials Kaajal Sabki Aakhon Mein Basi, Jeete Hai Jiske Hai Liye and Durgesh Nandini going off the air has the cast of in a quandry as they have no clue about this move. When contacted, Renuka Shahane who's made a comeback in Jeete Hai... agreed that the TRPs for the show have been less from day one but hoped that the channel would give it some more time before axing it "because the real story begins now". This week the serial has a high point with Pooja Ghai being murdered and Renuka being wrongly accused and convicted for the crime. "I realise I am pregnant in the jail and even deliver my kid behind bars. After that the serial takes a 20 year leap and the story becomes very dramatic," she elaborates. In fact, the original Spanish serial La Mardida from which Jeete Hain.. has been adapted begins from that point. Renuka, though, is not unduly worried even if the serial is axed nor is she in a hurry to take on another serial. "One daily soap experience is more than enough," she laughs.
