Mona defeats Shveta again

By Subhash K Jha Remember the fireworks between Mona Kapoor and Shveta Salve during last year's dance competition Jhalak Dikhla Jaa? Both the ladies were poised to take away the winner's crown. Shveta with her dancing skills and Madhuri Dixit features was the judges' favouruite. But Mona with her perseverance and warmth worked hard on herself and sneaked the crown from under Shveta's nose…much to everyone surprise. Ever since then the two ladies haven't exactly been seeing eye to eye. A year later feathers were about to be unruffled when Shveta was signed to co-host Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 2 with Rohit Roy.The duo was to replace Archana Puransingh and Parmeet Sethi. Now in a sudden and surprising development Shveta has been ousted from the anchor's chair, to be replaced by Mona. What happened? Shveta doesn't have a lcue. But she isn't sulking either. "These things happen. Yes I was looking forward to it. But never mind." Apparently Mona was seen to have a warmer and more viewer-friendly personality than Shveta, hence the eleventh hour decision to replace the original choice. Rohit Roy refuses to play the anchor without rancour. "I'm aware of the change. It will be interesting to see how the show goes." Mona coyly refused to comment. But Jhalak 2 seems to be going through casting dilemmas from the start. While the show is poised to resume in October none of the judges from the first season, namely Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Farah Khan(both busy directing their respective films) and Shilpa Shetty agreed to return on the show. Only one judge Urmila Matondkar has been confirmed. The second judge is likely to be Shiamak Davar. As for the third, your guess is as good as mine.

Jokes apart, the media loves to blow things out of proportion. A headline like this is designed to be provocative. Now all the people who had been saying that Mona won unfairly against Shveta, will have another reason to be riled at her.

And who says they didn't see eye-to-eye? Mona attended Shveta's party and Shveta turned up to wish Mona on her victory. Both gals even danced together. Seems the "fireworks" are only in Subhash Jha's mind.😕

My response to the article- why do media make such loud news and cause misunderstanding? first, they gave shveta a bad name last year and now they act as if these ladies were competing for the host spot! I hope the news dies with this article. Both of them don't deserve such uncalled for drama I feel! I am a big fan of Mona and a big fan of Shveta as a dancer. Such gossip leaves bad taste in my mouth 😭...
