MUMBAI: The Indian edition of the reality series Extreme Makeover is slated to air on Sony as a weekend slot, with Mona Singh as host.
Produced by Miditech, the 13 part series based on ABC Netwrok's reality format, will follow the stories of individuals who are suffering from any physical disfigurement, which have adversely affected their lives. Each self-contained episode will feature 26 participants, seen first in their "before" phase, then as they undergo their various procedures, and finally, in a climactic unveiling - the "after" -when the candidates reveal their new selves to their families and friends. The show will transform people who have had hard time fitting into 'society' because of the way they look -- whether it is someone with a prominent birthmark, a congenital cleft lip, or someone who has been a victim of an acid attack, or whether being a victim of a gas explosion.
An 'Extreme Team' including plastic surgeons, eye surgeons and cosmetic dentists, along with a talented team of hair and makeup artists, stylists, and personal trainers, led by an on-camera.
