well aj_styles...you are definately more tolerating than me, i lost my interest in nov 2004 itself(specifically the diwali party at purab's and the burning of gm warehouse). though most shows are in no way logical but i must admit even ekta shows make more sense than this one these days. what has this great show finally come to🤢🤢.

the attraction of this show and why people still watch it lies in the fact that the basic storyline is very different from majority of shows on the popular channels(excluding star one). there are people from different financial backgrounds, nuclear families with troubles that are commonplace, also personal ambitions , desires and love are overplayed in this show(most people identify with that). this is in contrast with majority of shows where the characters are from insanely rich joint families with a healthy dose of traditionalism in thier lifestyle. thier personal choices are ruled by the what is good for the family.love is more a source of intrigue and plotting than simple happiness. not to mention there is ample backstabbing and power struggle amongst the family members.(while the stories are not as fantastic as most people believe and there is a lot of truth in it.....for those who know about the family workings of ambanis or birlas will understand what i am talking about.....most of the viewers are from nuclear families or non resident indians who do not identify with that lifestyle hence find it boring and stupid).

Ah! good point pj04, I never looked at it that way. But explicitly, I guess the point I wanted to make was that, the show isn't healthy anymore. You might think, how was it Healty to begin with? Well, the show started with alot of real motives(Job interviews, an aim in life, business strategies, respect for a senior, principals, incentives, friendship). More or less, things most people desire to better themselves in life. We hadn't seen a good depiction of this in other (dramatic)tela-serials. Most Indian serials I'm aware of are too concentrated on the theme of domestic deception. This, to me, isn't healthy at all. I think people whom are too grounded at home all day long while missing the excitment of the outer world become obsessed with such depiction. These types of unhealthy serials feed too much negitivity into people's minds about the basics of good and bad and be sure to be extra careful in trusting those around you. People who become obsessed with such shows begin to take such issues seriously. This might seem a bit of an exaggeration, but I've seen it happen from experience, and it's sadly a true fact. And the more I think about it, ever since Jassi became Jessica, JJKN has degraded itself to such danger(or what I like to refer to as Ekta-Kapur-ism).

i understand what you have to say aj_styles, visual media has always had a tremendous impact on the viewers, however we see what we want to see, we learn what we want to learn from the resources around us. when we see a movie with terrorist threat theme, one person weeps over horror it unleashes, another learns new methods of terrorism while some argue if the reason of dissent among the characters of the movie(the reason of terrorist activities) was justified.

as for jjkn being healthy at one time and unhealthy now( i am not too sure) .while most people are enamoured about the lovestory, i still can't get over simple kinks and weaknesses of the story or how unreal it is .the fact is the more a story becomes realistic , the more it taps into darker side of humanity, the more messy and uglier the picture becomes.if it treads the simple path it remains idealistic but very unreal.the indian directors have still to learn to balance between these two storylines. it is not an easy task and that is the reason i suspect most american shows are either unscripted reality shows(which are no less ugly and messy) or crime/medicine based dramas.the few shows that dare to explore human relationships end up being almost ekta kapoorish(oc,once again ....etc) i will give you that jjkn started with a very clean simple story which is becoming messier now. the director keep adding sensitive, mature issues to the story without doing any research or having a mature point of view on them.

Was the episode of Purab's diwali party the same night as when him and Jassi were also getting engaged? Is it the same episode where Purab's ex-girlfriend ruin's everything for Purab that night and Jassi leaves the party unhappy with Armaan? If so, I loved that episode and consider it one of my favourites. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
