It is a crestfallen Armaan who finally leaves Jassi at the hospital after his birthday celebrations are over and done with. He grips her shoulder tightly as she signs the admission form, and when she hands over the pen to him, stares at her for a second too long before accepting it.
Armaan: (signing his name): Jassi, mera mann kar raha hai ki yahin kahin chhup jaun….aur raat ko jab sab so rahe ho toh tumse milne aa jaun….
Jassi: (shaking her head in a "come on now" manner) Armaan, aisa possible nahin hai, yeh tum bhi jaante ho aur main bhi…..ab tumne yahin paas mein toh room book kara liya hai na……tumhe roz hospital aane mein 5 minute bhi nahin legenge…..so relax!
Armu: Haan par…… yeh moments, tumahri delivery se pehle….jinke baare mein humne kya-kya nahin socha tha…..ki hum apne hone wale bachche ko kahaniyaan sunayenge…uske liye songs gayenge…. (Jassi smiles wistfully)……usse bataate rahenge ki hum usse kitna pyaar karte hai….yeh sab moments toh ab nahin honge na..?
Jassi: I know…. (sighs, then places her hand on his arm) Waise, gaane toh hospital mein hume koi nahin gaane dega…..par hum apne baby ko stories bhi suna sakte hai aur usse baate bhi kar sakte hai…..after all, tum mujhse roz milne aaoge…..aaoge na…..?
He clings closer and nods. But he is thinking, "Jassi, tumhe kya lagta hai…..main itne se time mein tumhe mil kar satisfy ho jaunga……maine tumhe, aur apne bachche ko poora time dena hai……..so, Armaan Suri ko kuch toh karna hi padega!"
His face acquires a knowing look.
In Gulmohur:
A Mr. Malkani comes to meet Raj. The latter receives him eagerly. As soon as both are seated, Raj checks to make sure the door is closed and there is nobody around. He phones Neha to not let anybody in while he is busy with Mr.Malkani. She sounds surprised, but makes no comment.
Mr.Malkani: Mr. Malhotra, apne jo find out karne ko kahaa tha, usme kuch progress hui hai……mujhe Anuj Shastri ke murder ke baare mein kuch information mili hai….
Raj: That's good…..please tell me more.
Mr. Malkani: Well……wo Nainital ke rehne wale the, lekin Mumbai mein apni beti ke ilaaj ke liye shift ho gaye the…..jab unka murder hua, iss waqt unki wife ghar par nahin thi….unki body ko ek private car mein paaya gaya, jisme kuch der tak ek aurat ne safar kiya tha…..aur uss aurat ka naam, Jasmeet Walia tha…..un par investigation kiya gaya magar…….
Raj: (impatiently) Yeh sab baate main pehle se jaanta hun…..aap mujhe yeh bataiye, ki Anuj Shastri ki body jis car se mili, uske driver ka koi pata hai?
Malkani: Nahin Mr.Raj……wo driver tab se missing hai…….aur investigation mein sirf yahi pata chala ki murder car se baahar kahin hua, aur body ko car mein daal kar kahin aur choda ja raha tha…..lekin raaste mein shaayad driver darr gaya aur car ko chod kar bhaag khada hua……
Raj sits thoughtfully for a few moments. Then he says, "Mr.Malkani, aap ek aur kaam kijiye….aap Mr. CJ Oberoi ke baare mein jitni information collect kar sakte hai, kijiye, aur mujhe bataiye…..especially, ki unka Anuj Shastri se kya rishta tha….."
After Malkani leaves, Neha enters the room and looks quizzically at Raj. But he makes no comment.
