I don't know if is should be asking this, but IF is one place where i know people will rush to help me if only i ask.😊

I am trying to write an academic paper on how certain stories shape and change people's lives. Most of us here have had that experience with JJKN😛; but now, i want your contributions regarding any story (real or fiction) that may have had a profound impact on your life. It could be a novel, a short story, a movie, a biography, a memoir....anything that narrates a story. It could even be a religious or mythological text that inspired you.

While writing in, do mention:

a. The name of the book/movie/ epic/ novel....

b. Any character with whom you strongly identified

c. Any turn or incident that you felt reflected your life's events

d. How the story helped you to see things from a new perspective

e. Whether the story healed you/helped you overcome any crisis

You can post your replies in this thread or PM me. I hope that this project of mine will work out, and i know i can count on my IF friends in this! 🤗

Hey Blytiii!!! Erm, here goes...

a. Harry Potter (what else? XD)
b. Hermione Granger
c. I wish I could get an owl that said I get to go to a magical school... XD I
guess I identified with the deaths... because I think the grief and the pain
of the characters really made me realize my own grief and pain...
d. These books are what really got me into reading... and inspired me to
create a Harry Potter Club, of which I'm the proud Headmistress of at my
school. That in itself helped me gain new friends and got me closer to my
English teacher. =>
e. Harry Potter's world has always been my "happy place" I guess you
could say. I can always get lost in those well-worn pages; it numbs the
pain and never fails to bring a smile, however small, to my face.

Hope that helped jaan! Good luck!

Hey Blyton! 😛 Well, lets see. There are a couple, but one of the most effective ones has to be the movie Finding Forrester. Of course, the main character, Jamal Wallace and [a writer] William Forrester had a strong impact on my life, and way of looking at writing. That story is basically about a boy (Jamal) who enjoys writing and reading. He has a lot of diaries that he stores his personal thoughts and feelings in. On the other hand, there is William, who never comes out of his apartment because of his divergent life style from others. The story revolves around the two and how William Forrester helps Jamal identify his prodigy in writing. The movie influenced me to not keep your talents to yourself and overcome your reclusivness. Before, I didn't really pay attention to my own writing, but the movie really shows the importance of your own talent and dreams. You can walk hand in hand with your dreams and reality. 😊

I hope that'll help ya somehow. 😃

well I learnt to love and be loved by the people who are close to you .I learnt it from my own personal experience . When i saw my husband for the first time , It was never love from my side in the sense that I was in such a confused stage where i didnt know whether I was ready for marriage or not but then everyone in the family liked him and me myself found him to be a very nice human being but then I was sure that it wasnt love at fist sight .later we got engaged ,even then I wasnt in love But he was clearly with me . He went abroad and 6 months later ,we got married and since then he just won over me completely with his love for me and my feelings and thats when I realised the true meaning of love and being loved .Its a wonderful experience that teaches you that nothing is more important than ur love and to give love in return . Love teaches you everything , to share ,to give everything u have, to think as "we" and not "I " , to feel the pain when ur loved one is in pain, to want to be together with the person for live forever, to share responsibility and to be adjusting and live for one another .

No wonder I realised that LOVE was the most important word in my dictionary and how ur life changes when u find its true meaning .

P:s DO READ " Tears of the Moon" By nora roberts , Its the most amazing love story that I have read .
