Minnie, purab did not have a full blown affair with meenakshi. It was very much a one sided thing with Meenakshi in love with him while purab considering her as a freind. they said this alomost 2/3 times during the show:
-after meenakshi says mujshe shaadi karoge and purab is shown to be shocked...meenakshi laughs and says.... dekh rahi thi ki itne saalo baad shayad tum apna jawab badal do. but yr answer is still the same ..no
-Purab tells jassi later taht he had met her iat a business conference 6/7 years back and that he always saw her as a friend but she was in love with him.
-he also clearly says that she never fitted the ideal woman image that he had.
interestingly, at the end, like purab says 'Meenakshi... tum kyun aayi ho' jassi too regretfully says 'Meenakshi tum kyun aa gahi ho'. Had i not read kanchi's/ides's article, i wld have thought she is feeling insecure abt loosing purab to meenakshi. coz it sure looked like that from her expression!
also, initially she looked more worried abt purab being with meenakshi than 3T winning the contract over GT
But now i don't know what to think. nothing makes sense. i seriously fail to understand if T&D are going to make jassi end up with armaan, what is the point of all this. what the hell they think they are doing. i think they feel that by prolonging the suspense, they will be able to keep the interest of people in the show alive. guys, u are just succeeding in making us sick !
but i guess they ARE just being smart (at the expense of the story & logic though). for example, the day it is confirmed to me that jassi is not going to end up with purab, i shall stop watching the show ! and i guess it is ditto with other purab/armaan fans as may be applicable.
