Jassi is startled out of her wits when she comes to know that Vedika left with a stranger. She screams into the phone, "Kya! Vedika kis ke saath gayi hai?"
The person at the other end (a teacher?) informs her that the watchman knows more, as he was the one standing at the gate. Jassi frantically phones Armaan in GM, who is flabbergasted. He tries to calm down Jassi, "Jassi, tum chinta mat karo, main aa raha hoon…hum dono saath mein Vedika ke school chalte hain…"
Jassi (in tears) :Armaan, hamari Vedika ko kaun le ja sakta hai….?
Armaan (upset): Jassi please calm down….hum zaroor kuch karenge…Vedika zaroor milegi…
JandA screech to a halt outside Vedika's school. The principal rushes out to meet them.
Armaan (gritting his teeth) :Yeh sab kya hai ma'am? Aapne hamari beti ko iss tarah kisi ajnabi ke saath kaise jaane diya?
Principal: (apologetically) :Mr.Suri, we are very sorry…hamari school mein aisa pehli baar hua hai….par hamein nahin pata tha ki woh aadmi aapka nahin hai…aap watchman se baat kijiye…
She takes them to the watchman. He looks scared. Armaan glares at him.
Armaan : Tumhe pata nahin hai ki bachchon ko iss tarah kisi ke bhi saath nahin jaane dete?
Watchman: Sa'ab, who aadmi jo Vedika baby ko lene aaya tha, woh anjaan nahin tha…
Jassi: Kya!
W: Haan memsa'ab…woh wohi driver tha jo usse roz school se lene aata tha…issliye mujhe shak nahin hua…
JandA stare at each other in shock. The principal asks the watchman, "Ram Singh (why are they always called Ram Singh?😆), tumhe poora yakeen hai, woh wohi driver tha?"
W: Haan madam, wohi tha….Vedika baby usske saath mere paas aayi aur kaha ki woh apne uncle ke ghar ja rahi hai.
J: (quickly): Uncle? Kaun uncle? Usne uss "uncle" ka naam bataya?
W: Nahin memsa'ab….lekin woh bahut khush lag rahi thi….aur driver bhi roz ki tarah hi pesh aa raha tha….mujhe toh uss waqt koi gadbad nahin lagi!
It turns out that the driver who used to pick up Vedika daily had gone on leave some days ago, at the same time that JandA left for Goa. When Vedika was staying with the Walias, Chaman used to pick her up; and since JandA had come back to their house, they had assigned another driver to this job. But since the driver was new, the watchman apparently did not realize that the man for the job had changed, and thinking that the old driver had resumed his duty, allowed Vedika to go with him without the least suspicion.
Armaan grits his teeth. "Uss driver ko toh main…"
Jassi puts her hand on his arm. "Koi faayda nahin Armaan…ussne zaroor kissi ke kehne par yeh sab kiya hai…par aakhir kisske?"
In GM, there is confusion all around. Nobody knows where Armaan is, and Nandu is frantically rushing around, trying to get things under control. His phone rings. He picks it up with, "Jassi, kahan hai Armaan!" but then his expression changes. Beauty watches him anxiously.
As he puts the phone down, he explains to Beauty that Vedika is missing and he needs to go to Jassi now. Beauty insists, "Main bhi chalti hoon, Jassi didi ke paas…."
Nandu: Nahin, iss waqt tumhari yahan zaroorat hai….please yahan sab sambhaal lena….
Beauty nods bravely. "Chinta mat kariye Nandu, main yahan sab dekh loongi….aap Jassi didi ki madad karne jao…."
He gives her a swift glance of gratitude😊 before rushing off.
At the Walias, everyone is sitting tensely. Armaan is clutching a distraught Jassi tightly in his arms😳. Bua is wailing, "Kaun shaitan le gaya hamari bachchi ko?" Billu looks angrily at her. "Chup! Koi rona-dhona nahin hoga! Hum Vedika ko dhoond kar hi rahenge. Aur sab sun lo…..yeh baat Bebe ko nahin pata chalni chahiye!"
Just then, Bebe appears in the doorway and overhears everything! She demands, "Kya nahin pata chalna chahiya mujhe? Batao toh…."
They reluctantly have to tell her everything. Bebe is stunned. "Yeh kya keh rahe ho! Aisa kaise ho sakta hai? Arre pata karo, kissi dost ya jaan-pehchaan waale ke ghar gayi hogi…"
Nandu has tried the numbers of all acquaintances, but without success. Billu says, "Hame police main khabar kar deni chaiye!"
Chaman and Nandu agree but Jassi protests, "Nahin papaji, kahin iss se Vedika ko aur khatra na ho jaye…!"
Armaan :Haan Papaji, Jassi theek keh rahi hain…agar usse kisi ne kidnap kiya hai toh kidnapper ka phone zaroor aayega….
Just then the phone rings. Everyone jumps. Jassi snatches it up. "Hello?"
"Jassi mamma!"
"Vedika!"
Everyone gathers around Jassi, who is asking feverishly, "Vedika mera bachcha, tum theek toh ho na?"
V: Haan Mamma, main bilkul theek hun….
J: Tum kahan ho beta?
But just then the phone is apparently snatched away at the other end; Jassi frantically demands, "Vedika???"
Armaan takes the phone from her. Just then he hears Vedika's voice again. "Vedika ?"
V: Armaan papa..? Mujhe nahin pata ki main kahan hoon…par yahan ek uncle hain, who kehte hain ki agar aap mujhe le jaana chahte ho to aapko akele yahan aana padega…please aap aa jao na! (She recites some address. Apparently someone is making her say all this. She also says that Armaan has to bring Rs. 50 lakh with him.)
Armaan makes up his mind. "Main Vedika ko lene ja raha hoon!"
Jassi insists on going with him but he tells her that she should not take such a risk in her condition. Nandu and Chaman offer to go with him, but he tells them that since the kidnapper has called him alone, he must go alone.
Billu: Lekin Armaan beta, yeh khatre se khaali nahin hai…pata nahin uss aadmi ke irade kya hai? Meri mano, police ko khabar kar do!
Armaan: Nahin papaji, police ke aane se yeh baat kahin bigad na jaaye…mujhe kuch nahin hoga!
He leaves, while Jassi looks at him tearfully😭, and the rest look anxious.
Arriving at the abandoned factory where Vedika had called him, Armu cautiously goes inside, calling, "Vedika? Kahan ho, Vedika?" The place is in partial darkness.
She comes running up to him. He gathers her in his arms. "Vedika….tum theek toh ho na?"
"Haan papa…"
Just then a voice echoes in the room, "So, Mr.Armaan Suri, aakhir itne waqt baad hamara saamna ho hi gaya!"
Armaan is startled. "Yeh awaaaz….toh bahut jaani-pehchaani si hai!"
A: Kaun ho tum? Baahar aao!
The figure of a man emerges from the shadows. His face is not visible to us, but Armaan recognizes it and stares in shock.
"Tum?!"
Tomorrow: Armaan lunges at he other guy .
