There was no need to get these two names together in particular.
I can site the example of karishma kapoor for example. She looked aweful and was not discovered until Raja Hindustani happened. Why not compare her? It was the same for Madhuri Dixit! Tezaab happnened and she reached the sky. Why compare just ash and mona?

Aishwarya Rai looks dazzling 👏 👏 but that's all. Her yelling and screaming and overacting has driven me out of watching Bride and Prejudice. Believe me i can sit and watch trash usually. She is someone I can keep on mute and use subtitles ;) I am quite sure that she will ruin Mistress of spices by the same acting skills 🤢 🤢 . On the other hand, Mona has justified the role of jassi. She used to create magic on the small screen. I look forward to Mona doing something other than Jassi and better than ash. I wish her luck on big screen. In fact, I think there is a huge difference between those two. Ash came out as a pretty woman, BAD actor yet gained popularity. Mona played the ugly duckling but gained popularity based on her acting and the character of jassi brought to justice 😃

ps..i watched bride and prejudice some 17 times in two days😆..just to watch Mr.Darcy😳..i was completely besotted and went totally gaga after watching him😳😳😳..i even put up with the ash crap🤢.......aaaaaaahhhhh, see, manyyyyyyyyy men look cuterrrrrrrr than AA😳..just that we dont get to see them everyday on tv😕

i rreally liked him....i really did..but now that crush is over..it infact got over, the 17th time i watched it😆

I think the comparison was done in fun; heck, they even compared Smriti Aunty to Mallika Sherawat!!LmAOoooooooo!!!

One can draw comparisons among any two ppl; if i want even i can compare myself with Kareeena Kappor and say i am good enough for Shahid (whom i can EAT!!! 😛 ) but the sad reality is that i have no chances of getting him in this life.
I agree completely with mermaid on this 👏 ; Ash is extremely pretty but a BAD actor; Mona is good-looking (and, in my opinion, a beautiful person 👏 ; you may not agree but that is my personal standard of beauty) and a terrific actress; there is really no comparison.

And Buffie, i HATE that Bride and Prejudice 😡 ; i am a die-hard Jane Austen lover and Gurinder Chadha compltely MASSACRED her novel; the death-blow was casting Ash as Elizabeth. Stoooooopid director!!

OMG guys, i have never been a fan of aishwarya rai's acting....i didnt even like hum dil de chuke sanam and i watched devdas only for madhuri dixit.....and i wated B&P for martin henderson...NOT for ash...just like how i watch JJKN for manda(ok, manda original(mona and apu) are better than mandA 2(martin and ash lol), yes, similarly, i watched B&P for mr.darcy...but my crush flew away the 17th time i saw it....ash was deplorable to say the least 🤢

apparently, ash is very much into abhi...i read this(ash haters note)

ash was with vivek when she was doign Mistress...so apparently she didnt mind the steamy scenes coz vivek was like a dog to her, very much below her..but now its abhi..a bacchan...so she's frightened...what hypocrisy😡

Aishwarya Rai in scenes from Mistress of Spices Aishwarya Rai seems to be treating Mistress of Spices as a stepchild. The actress hasn't promoted the film, despite having time on her hands. Back from the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Ash was in Mumbai for almost a week before leaving for Karnataka on Sunday, for Mani Ratnam's Guru. But she refused to publicise MOS, which is Gurinder Chadha's husband, Paul Mayeda Berges's directorial debut. The film, based on the book by the same name by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, is slated for an April 28 release in India. Bedroom scene According to an insider, Aishwarya is distancing herself from the project because she is embarrassed by some intimate scenes she shot for the film. Says our source, "Ash had no problems when she shot for those bold scenes, but when she saw the final draft, she put her foot down. Co-producer Deepak Nayar was forced to delete those scenes at her behest. Ash even objected to the poster made for the film's publicity, which showed her in bed with 44-year-old actor Dylan McDermott, with McDermott tickling her back." Reason: Abhishek Director Paul Mayeda Berges at the film's sets Now, the makers are peeved because despite toeing Ash's line and giving in to all her demands, she refuses to promote the film. Says the source, "Ash has done bold stuff in Chokher Bali and Shabd in the past. Lately, however, with Abhishek Bachchan in her life, she has become fussier. Perhaps that is why she had second thoughts. Her love affair with Abhishek may well be the reason." When contacted, Paul said, "Everything is fine." Added Nayar, "I don't think we want Mistress of Spices to be pushed down throats as an Aishwarya Rai film. Ash is doing the publicity to whatever extent she can. Ideally, the director (Berges) should be in Mumbai with Gurinder Chadha. If they haven't come, can we blame Ash?" Distributors suffer Nayar claims no scene in the film has been deleted. "We showed the film in Toronto, in September. That version and the forthcoming version will not have any changes." The scenes Rai wanted cut, were shot in California. Says distributor TVR's Kamal, "This is true. I wish Rai had been cooperative in publicising the film. Publicity nahin hoti to distributors ko farak padta hai." While Rai was unavailable for comment, her manager, Hari Singh said, "Aishwarya has done enough publicity abroad, while the film was being shot. As for doing publicity in India, she did not receive any intimation from either the producer or the exhibitors. Besides, she had other commitments when she was in Mumbai."
