Talking Point with Parmeet Sethi |

What is your show Detective Omkar Nath aka Don all about? It's a detective series with a lot of humour. Don's a Jack of all trades and master of disguise. He's an orphan who's moved from place to place and is as comfortable in a local train as in a luxury car. Isn't this a lead role for you after a long time? |
What are the kind of cases you solve?
Well, none of the cases Don solves are going to save the world. He's an uncomplicated guy whose cases range from solving murders to locating a missing pet.
Your character changes disguises and accents all the time. How did you get it right?
I observed everyone. For a Christian character, I studied my office boy's mannerisms for an entire day. When it was a man-on-the-street kind of role, I caught one of the set boys and looked to him for inspiration. Do you think the makers of Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin have killed the show?
I really wonder why all the interesting characters were destroyed. The show is now broken beyond repair. They had a unique USP, which they tampered with and it led to their downfall. Are you and Archana putting the Nach Baliye dance experience to good use?
Archana's taken up dancing classes with the kids and every evening I'm treated to a display of what they learnt that day. I don't have time to dance anymore. Lots of couple offers have come our way for sitcoms and stage shows. You recently moved to a new house in Madh Island. Do you like living away from the city?
It was the best decision of my life. We grow our own vegetables and get fresh milk from the tabela nearby. The temperature is three degrees lower than the city and the kids have all the room to play.
(Don launches on February 10, 9 pm, Star One)
