I am not going to lie, I have never been in love so you must forgive me if my writing here is blatantly uninformed. I do often find myself pondering though, what love is. We love our friends, we love our family, we love our other half and sometimes we love those who had least expected to. There are many occasions when we don't even know why somebody means so much to us. They just do. People become this requisite habit and suddenly, we don't know how we ever lived without them. This blazing rush of the unknown , the realisation of love, is embodied in the depiction of the central love story of this show. Indeed, love is such that it becomes the sole purpose of our existence. What is life without love?

In exactly this manner, Vividha and Atharv fell in love quickly but certainly. Like all great love stories, it is 'wrong'. On paper, they shouldn't be together. As filmy as falling for the wrong person is, it is true that we do not consider all the things that we ought to. In fact, lovers never consider anything but each other. I can give you innumerable examples from people that I know, telling me that they didn't mean to fall for the wrong person. They just couldn't help it. Even if that means hurting Mama or Baba or Dada or Nani, its love and you can't help it. Even Vividha, she tried to resist but in the end, the pull of love was stronger than Papa's push. She gained such confidence in herself and their bond, that she no longer cared or feared. His love made her grow. He taught her what love is, and who she is. What is more freeing than that? True love, it frees you.

Even when the burden of external pressure feels heavy, belief is necessary. That is the signature of unconditional love though. It does not confine, rather it liberates. Indeed, even when superficial boundaries try to contain what you really are, love reminds you. The more they try to push them away, they closer they will come. They are made in pairs, what can human forces really do to separate them?
Overcoming adversity, thats love. It is only a matter of time for those that love just as it is only a matter of time for ViTharv. Atharv was patient and helped her find her way home. Now she will do the same.

I'm sure the great Fitzgerald can help me communicate the sentiments of their love better than I could ever dream of doing.

"I love her and thats the beginning and end of everything."

(My little interpretation of love and ViTharv. Ideas formed by real life conversations with those that dare to love. Oh, and a bit of literature. Hopefully they're not too far off. Would love to hear your thoughts.)

Beautifully written!!

Have so much in my heart to say for Vitharv.. their love, belonging, need, is just too beautiful to describe.. unconditional, soul-mates, knows no bounds.,.. simply limitless and unending..

and like you perfectly quoted Fitzgerald--- "They are each other's beginning and the end"..
the same thought which both of them time and again have reiterated umpteen of times...Just amazingly wonderful 😳😳😳

How beautifully you have written Alishah. I just wonder Vitharvs love is so powerful and we are so connected to it that it forces us to think of them for ao long and piur our thoughts in wonderful words, poems, art, Vms. Everyone just understands ot and connects to it
Vitharv love is Sadness, Pain, Happiness, Fun, Laughter, Sharing, Caring, Possessive ness, Jealousy, Trust, Faith, Understanding, Communication, Responsibility, Friendship, above all love and togetherness.

All in all juuat as u summed up Beginning and ending of everything you do in life. And they exist in each other.

Liberation reminda me of Vitharv first Vachan where Atharva mentions "Pyar azadi cheenta nahin, azazdi deta hai"

Vitharv = just purest form of love ❤️ either you caan live it or Feel it but cannot be explained in words.

Dearest Alishah,
It cannot be true that you don't know about being in love, because you do. Being in love is no different from loving someone, the feelings are just inclined differently to include an attraction that extends to the physical.

There is much said about love by authors, poets and film makers. Love is an unquenchable thirst, the more you drink the more thirsty you get. You really cannot have enough of it. When you fall in love, or when you love, it completes you and makes you happy and sad all at once. It takes you to great heights and pushes you down these tall heights too.

But what is love?

Love to me is an amalgamation of minds, not just the heart - A harmony of thoughts and values. You can only be in love with a person you respect. And you can only respect a person whose ideals and values you respect. The physical attraction and passion comes later.

In Vividha and Atharv's case, Atharv fell in love with Vividha because he respected her. The only time he was willing to let her go was when she lost a little of that respect. Equally, Vividha fell in love with Atharv because she respected him. Ofcourse, they were also insanely physically attracted to each other, but without the respect it would have come to naught. The attraction would not have blossomed into love.

Often, movies and shows give young girls the wrong idea that you can fall in love with persons of a different mind set. If you are educated and have the ideals and values of an educated woman,it is not possible to fall in love with someone uneducated, because you will not share the same goals and ideals or values in life. There will always be a mental divide which will ruin the relationship once the physical distance and other socio economic differences creep in. I hear of girls who have eloped with drivers, local thugs and I feel really sad for them and for what lies ahead in their lives. Irresponsible cinema and TV is to blame.

Vivdha and Atharv are both educated and both of them share the same ideals and goals. Both are strong and opposed to injustice. And so with a little drama and a lot of intimacy, they make a strong pair. When a parent is wrong, and opposed to a relationship for irrational reasons, a child will have to rebel. However, at times, Parents are right. Kailash was wrong because he was blinded by ego, status and hatred. The people in the V mansion are wrong now because they are giving precedence to false notions of marriage, thus ruining 3 lives. So, I think it is only right Atharv and Vividha stand up for what they have jointly believed to be right - freedom of choice and the pursuit of what is right (because it is right and not what the society believes to be right).

Their love story is beautifully portrayed and I hope it continues to be portrayed in this manner.

Where were you all this time? Even you beagleboy and aditi you guys are only posting now? Why? This forum needs more writers like you lot.

Vividha & Atharv are what you call a true insanely passionate couple. This whole empowerment angle really added a whole new angle to a boy meet girl love story. A girl who had no real direction, a hidden strength met a boy with such strong ideals. She made him happy, soothed that emptiness he felt since forever and he gave her the push to stand up for what she believes in. I just find that aspect so beautiful! Every time Vividha stands her ground, I just have to give credit to Atharv for getting that out of her. Atharv's smiles and happiness are because of Vividha's presence which filled his incomplete life.

Like they say themselves, they both gave each other a meaning to the others life. They respect each other so much, they're a couple who actually TALK, they're a couple who are so passionately attracted to each other - something which existed since the first moment they had their almost crash in front of the tabela...what a magnetic moment that was!

They're a COUPLE madly in love, an extension of each other because they both discovered sides they didn't know existed within them.

Great post! Even I've never been in love and I totally don't buy the crap they dish out on TV/movies in the name of eternal love. I think Vitharv's journey towards discovering each other is a writing victory of sorts because I'm someone who's always decried the soulmate trope as portrayed in movies as hogwash. But this show has managed to delineate a cliched trope and given it a realistic spin. The metamorphosis of Vividha from a shy young girl blinded by her father's classist ideals in the garb of an over protective parent to someone who can fight against the archaic traditions is spectacularly portrayed. Basically, Atharv managed to sense Vividha's inner potential and strength of character which she herself was alien to given the social conditioning, and hence pursued her to free her from the shackles of of a conniving, control-freak of a father. It's a truly beautiful portrayal of the meeting of the minds deftly handled by the writers as well as the actors which has given unparalleled gravitas to this oft-repeated girl-meets-boy-falls-in-love trope. The cornerstone of any relationship especially that of love must be of mutual trust/admiration beyond the basal and ephemeral physical attraction. Only that sort of a relationship can be everlasting IMO.
