Think about it . If RK told him all in the letter he most have also told him . The bride I picked is for your brother please unite them because THAT was RK's dying wish. To unite vitharv as a way of getting in to atharva's good graces.
Let's for argument sake he doesn't know the guy in his closet is his brother. And he is still looking .

Its frustrating as the writers take our intelligence for granted . These are not even answers that will have a big impact on the overall story . So why not give us even clues PLL style to follow.

Let's forget abut the fact that him calling her and saying that to her made no sense.
That's the one thing that made me angry . Even if suman considered A as her son( arguments' sake) he should have specified which son is the bahu for .
