Before I start my post, I just want to clear one thing that I love ViTharv with all heart, I love both of them together and separately. The show is such a cliche at times but I just watch it because of Vividha and Atharv. However, this question whether Vividha deserves Atharv or not has been haunting me since I started watching the show, and when I saw today's episode I could not help myself and ended typing out this post.
As it has been mentioned so many times in the forum, Atharv is strong character with immense strength within him. He is honest and straightforward, he does not need to hide or manipulate people around him. Moreover, he is not scared of what he wants and is not afraid to admit it. Like lot of people said that his confession was to fast, while I agree, I also feel it was a direct insight to his character. The creatives did not show any confusion in his mind of him rethinking his decision. He just confessed to what he felt about Vividha in front of everyone without hesitation, he did not think it was needed to hide his feeling or be ashamed of them. His open, loud and confident admission of his feeling portrayed his qualities. He is not even scared of the consequences. Though he knew what he will happen once he confesses, that his already difficult life will be even more difficult, he knew that he will have to face Kailash's wrath but he did it anyways because he was not scared, instead hiding his feeling, he thought it better to open and honest about them.

Also, his love towards Vividha is so pure and so selfless. He loves her completely and is willing to give up so much, in fact he already has. He has lost his house, and got beaten up just because he loves her and dared to be honest about his feeling. Every time Vividha walks away from his, he breaks down inside. Every time she refuses to admit her feelings, he feels hurt and rejected, even though he knows that Vividha is not saying the truth.

Now coming to Vividha, this is not a hate post towards her, like I said I love her character too in the show. However, I do find her at times to be not deserving of Atharv's love. This not to say that in future it wont change but the way her character has been building up, I doubt it will. Atharv will always love her and I will always love them together but somewhere she does not deserve such a selfless and pure love.

I am not going to call her a weak character because she is not. We have seen her show immense strength in times when even the strongest would fail but her strength does not present itself in front of of her father or when it comes to standing up for Atharv. Her strength always presents itself when she is far away from her father's grip, when she has the freedom to speak for herself.

Atharv loves her so wholeheartedly and she might even return those feelings in future but she is never going to defy her father for Atharv, she is never going to question her father. She might feel doubtful about his actions but she will repress that doubt within her. Atharv will his fears if he has to for her but Vividha won't fight for him. So that makes me question that does Atharv deserve a girl who is not willing to fight for him? Her main fight in regard to Atharv will be with her father, the one she will refuse to fight so does she deserve Atharv's love, love which is so fearless and strong? Does she deserve that love when her love fails in front of her father?

If in coming episodes, she does not realise her mistake of trying to slap Atharv, then I am sure she is heading in the direction where my answer would be no. And if Atharv is not even a little bit angry at her, then I will be so pissed, because Atharv needs to stop running behind her. He needs to let her fight for him, and not always the other way around. That hug was huge step in right direction and we need to see more of those, and Atharv deserves those. He deserves to see Vividha fighting for him and not just giving up. He deserves that she sees the truth, that she realises that Kailash isnt as great as he makes himself out to be and that just because Atharv is honest and open about his dislike towards Kailash, it does not make him the bad person. Kailash's secret and hidden ill-behaviour is so much more dangerous and explosive than Atharv's direct confrontations with Kailash. If she does not see this now then I need her to that truth in future and accept it because otherwise she does not deserve Atharv.

I know her character might change in future, but this my opinion for now. And once again I love ViTharv but I do doubt whether Vividha is deserving of that love.

This 'deserving' issue comes up in almost every popular love story. It seems like it's a dynamic which causes a lot of questions in the viewers mind as well as making them watch the love story for that very reason.

Out of two main leads, one will UNDOUBTEDLY wrong the other more. Ironically it works big time for the couple's popularity (most of the time) because you end up having this love-hate relationship with this unbalanced love.

At the same time it keeps the story going too. If at this point Vividha was as straight forward & upfront as Atharv...there will be no story! You love Atharv for his selfless & true love but you need an unpredictable Vividha to keep the audience hooked too.

As of now, no she hasn't done anything in my eyes to say that she doesn't deserve his love. I may feel that in the future but this is all new to her. Yes she has fallen for Atharv and as a matter of fact she has done a lot for him too. She wants to see him smile and is distressed when he's upset. That's still unconditional love. She doesn't see his status or whatever, she LOVES him but she's also been brainwashed by her dad and has been the biggest influence in her life so you can't just expect her to switch out of it.

Like I said this deserving-underserving issue will come up often I'm sure but then without it, you won't feel the same pull to Virtharv either and nor would anyone want to see them just be happily in love without the pains & hurts. It's just boring!

I was totally thinking this whilst watching today's episode. Currently, I do not think Vividha deserves Atharv's love but obviously I want the end game to always be the two to be together. It's almost starting to feel like it's a one sided love but I guess we have no one other than Kailash to blame. Vividha really needs to start seeing her fathers true colours in order to appreciate Atharv. After the slap or almost slap, I hope Atharv distances himself away from her or gives her some sort of cold shoulder as I really want to see her fighting for Atharv proving that she is worthy of his love.

The story is about finding strength within self...so, twist and turns will occur. I'm just hoping they don't bring in different partners for Atharv or Vividha...

@bold: I know she has not done anything for which we can say that she does not deserve his love but I do feel she has not done enough. Maybe that's because Atharv has done so much so her actions for Atharv seem small in comparison. But I am so frustrated watching Atharv fight so hard for her. Its obviously going to take time for so many years of brainwashing to vanish but I doubt even then she would have the strength to stand up against her father. Maybe she will fight equally harder for him in future but as of now I am not getting those vibes from her.

Like you said though, this whole issue of 'deserving-undeserving' makes the show interesting and it does keep the audience hooked up so I am up for all the twists and turns Vividha's decision will provide us with but I do hope in the end she does emerge as strong as Atharv believes her to be and does love him as irrevocably and selflessly he loves her and she just like him says damn the consequences.

Exactly. It just that the whole slapping thing just made me really question whether she deserves his love or not. Ikr? It has started to feel like one sided even though its not but the more late Vividha's confession gets, the more pain Atharv will be in and I hate to see that.
Same. I do want him to give her a cold shoulder and I want to Vividha trying to talk to him and understand things from his side.

I love these two so much so I hope that Vividha does find that strength within her and moreover she accepts that strength and makes use of it, instead of hiding it within her. I think for Vividha there is going to be new partner but I hope it does not end too badly for Atharv.

I think Vividha's current behavior coupled with the spoilers of the upcoming storyline of vividha marrying someone else because of family pressure, is putting me off the show slowly.
I hope , really hope things don't go down that way but looking at Vividha's characterization , I don't see a happy ending for Atharv. She will break his heart and he'll be totally broken. After going through so much of pain in his life, he deserves happiness and for that he needs to realize that Vividha isn't ever going to choose him over her devil father. He needs to get Vivi out of his mind.

I may be the only one but I am not convinced Atharv actually loves Vividha or it is just his "zid"/stubbornness and a matter of pride. Due to his background, his honor has been trampled many times and his status in the society is often questioned. If anything is related to his or his mother's pride, it will be paramount to him -- he will die before giving in, so losing home and getting beaten up are minor in comparison to what he will be willing to face.

Vividha is like all soap leads - little dumb and little spineless. She worships her dad and cannot see beyond that. Atharv is novelty for her as she has lead a protected existence. In some ways Atharv is like her father (remember she is blind to her father's true nature) - determined and head strong.

I think neither deserves the other at this time. Atharv needs to prove he can take care of confused Vivdha after the matter of his pride is settled and Vividha needs to prove she is capable to loving someone else other than her father.

I know making this post in a pro-Atharv thread. Sorry if I offended someone.

WAIT!!! Is Atharv's family coming soon then?? OMG how are we supposed to see a transformed Vividha in that short amount of time??? Oh God I really hope the CVs know what they're doing b/c if Vividha marries WITHOUT knowing her father's truth, it's going to cause a ripple effect and pretty much destroy everyone in the process.
