Time went by in a blur of tears and fear.
Sidharth waited outside the tent, while Roshni lay unconscious inside, with the doctor.
It was like nightmare. Memories of Roshni filled his thoughts.
It seemed like forever, before the Doctor stepped out of the tent. She seemed a little grim.
Horrific thoughts swam in his mind. He wanted to cry. He prayed to God for everything to be alright.
He watched her as she approached him. As if his future was in her hand. In a way it was...Roshni was his life, his future.
"Meri Roshni teek toh hai nah Doctor" his voice cracking up in his throat.
His heart stopped waiting for her reply.
"Look Mr. Khurana, Roshni will be fine. However she has sustained some physical injuries, in the form of cuts and bruises. I have attended to her wounds, and have prescribed the
nesessary medines, that will help with the pain. She needs good rest, and in a couple of days she will be back to normal"
Sidharth held his breath,
"But why isn't she waking up"
"Actually she has been injected with Propofel, which is a drug used to induce sleep. The effects of the drug should ware off by the morning"
"Oh thank God...and thank you Doctor..Thank you so much."
All his tears evaporated like mist. The only tears that remained were those of happiness.
Sidharth sat beside Roshni as she lay sleeping.
He gently brushed away a lock of hair from her face, and tucked it neatly behind her ear.
He could watch her for all eternity.
Sidharth felt a hand on his shoulder.
"Saali Sahibah meri Roshni teek ho gaye gi. The doctor said she'll be fine by morning".
He whispered with a smile.
"Yes I know JeejuSa. ..."
"Agar is ko kuch ho jaata???
I would have died. I can't live without her Saali Sahiba...not even for a minute"
Soniya smiled
"And you will never have to life without her JeejuSa. ...tum dono ek dujhe ke liye baane ho"
There was a moment of silence, which was broken by Soniya.
"I was thinking why don't you sleep in my tent tonight and I'll stay here with Roshni"
Sidharth shook his head
"Nahin. I can't leave Roshni. I won't leave Roshni. I need to be with her.
You understand nah.. I just need to be close to her".
"Of course I understand, but if you need anything, anytime just let me know"
Sidharth nodded his head and Soniya left.
Sidharth wrapped his arms around her. Holding her in his arms.
He couldn't sleep, or even close his eyes.
He just watched her, holding her tight, wishing that the night would never end.
Roshni stired in her sleep, rolling closer against him, with a faint murmur.
Her silken hair brushed against his cheeks.
He held her tighter, almost scared to breathe, in case he woke her.
It was still dark outside. It was still night.
The dawn would be breaking soon, and with it Sidharth wanted to erase all her bad memories. There would only be happiness in her life.
Seconds passed. minutes passed. hours passed.
He sat motionless watching her. Holding her Caressing her hair.
Tiredness began to sink in, and he snuggled against her, listening to the sounds of her breath, feeling her soft curves against his body.
"She's mine, I'm hers. We'll always be together, and that's all I will ever need".
He kissed her forehead, slowly his eyes closed as he fell asleep.
It was dawn, when Sidharth opened his eyes.
He looked at Roshni.
She looked so peaceful in the early morning light.
Roshni began to stir in her sleep. She murmured quietly, then suddenly
"Chodo mujhe, leave me Dev. .." she awoke crying.
"Roshni. ..Roshni...its okay your safe Baby, your safe"
She turned to look at him, rattled at her surrounding
"How did I get here...what happened"
"Bas tum teek ho. ..that's all that matters"
Without thinking she hugged Sidharth tightly.
"I was so scared...I was so scared" crying as she spoke
Sidharth held her back.
"Ssshhh. ..Ssshhh...its okay Baby, there's no need to be scared anymore. Main hoon nah"
He wanted to keep holding her forever.
Roshni closed her eyes. She felt save in the warmth of his embrace. She didn't want to let go.
It was if time had stood still. Both were lost in each others arms.
But it wasn't long, before her thoughts began
to question her.
"What am i doing in his arms?
Why do i feel safe in his arms?
Do I love him?
Does he really truly love me?
Will he break my heart?
This is not a fairytale, but will I live happily ever after with Cranky Pants?
A sob rose in her chest, not understanding her feelings for Sidharth, and she quickly let go of him.
"I'm sorry...woh, woh mein. ... ..I mean"
Sidharth just smiled
"It's okay Baby. Like I said you can hug me
whenever you want. Haq banta hai tumhara".
He said with a smile, trying to lighten the situation.
"Waise hug ke saath tum agar kiss bhi karna chaho toh... I don't have any objections" he said as he winked at her
"Ufff. ..tum aur tumare kisses" she rolled her eyes, but couldn't help but smiled.
"And how's my Sweetie" said Soniya as she walked in with Rahul.
Soniya sat down and took Roshni in a hug
"I was so scared Sonu. ..so scared" tears welled up in her eyes again as she remembered the incident.
"He was...He was...Did he?... Did he?. ..I mean...did he"
Roshni couldn't remember anything
"No sweetie. Nothing happened. Your husband would never allow anyone to hurt you". Soniya said as she soothed her, stroking her hair.
Sidharth lowered his lips to her ears
"You never need to be scared again Roshni"
Roshni turned back to look at him, and gave a small smile.
Sidharth watched her as she clung to Soniya, wishing it was his arms, that she would find comfort in.
"God, I wish she would love me. I wish it with every fibre of my soul"
He pulled himself together, gasping in the crisp, early morning air
"Roshni are you hungry? You need to eat something first, before you can take your medicine"
Roshni srunched up her face
"I'm fine...I don't need medicine. ..I hate medicines. Woh Kaarwee hoti hai...Yuk"
Sidharth smiled at her childish behaviour.
"Well it's good that you feel fine, but Doctors orders you need to take your medicine" Sidharth said sternly.
Roshni looked at Soniya to rescue her, but she just shrugged her shoulders
"Sorry Sweetie. ..who am I to come between husband and wife"
Roshni gave her a killer look.
Rahul bought in some warm porridge.
"Here you go behna"
Sidharth took the bowl from him.
Rahul and Soniya made their exit, as Sidharth began to spoon feed Roshni
"I'm a big girl, I can feed myself thank you very much"
Sidharth looked at her seductively from top to bottom and smiled
"I know, your definitely a big girl. ..."
Roshni face flashed as she tried to cover herself
with her sleeping bag.
"So are you going to open your mouth or do I have to hold you tight and force it down"
Roshni quickly opened her mouth and began eating.
"I'm going to make you mine Roshni" he muttered under his breath.
"Did you say something" asked Roshni
"Kyon tumne kuch sunna kya" he said raising an eyebrow.
She quickly nodded a ''No" trying to avert his gaze.
After her breakfast was done, Sidharth gave her, her medicines, which she reluctantly took.
He then took out an ointment for her bruises, which the doctor had prescribed.
With his fingers he rubbed the ointment gently on her cheeks.
She squeamed with a slight pain when he touched her.
Sidharth moved in closer to her, and softly blew on her face, to stop the burning.
Roshni shivered, suddenly nervous, but the feel of his caress was too good to stop him.
Sidharth lifted her chin and held it, as he continued rubbing the ointment. His gaze locked with hers.
He looked at Roshni with so much tenderness, and so much desire.
"God, what do you do to me" he thought smiling.
He trailed his fingers gently down her cheek, along the curve of her jaw, rubbing the ointment as gently as he could.
Roshni shivered and her eyes closed. She felt hypnotised, powerless to do anything,
but feel the sweetness of his caress on her skin.
She opened her eyes to meet his.
He stared at her with so much intensity, she wanted to look away but couldn't.
"You're so perfect Roshni"
He said, staring at her as if she was a piece of Art.
He brushed his nose gently against hers. Roshni blushed, but didn't object.
"You're so beautiful"
He blew softly over her lips.
She swallowed hard. She waited for some sudden prank, some insult, but he continued watching her, only with care in his eyes.
"What am I feeling. It's consuming me. It's crashing through my defenses" her thoughts were confused.
Sidharths heart beat was erratic. He didn't want this time to end.
Roshni stared back at him,. She felt as if her breath had been robbed from her lungs.
He gazed down at her lips, as he continued blowing gently on her bruises.
There was only a few inches between them.
Roshni felt lost in some sensation, which he was unleashing with just his fingertips.
They stay suspended looking at one another, lost in each other, oblivious to their surroundings.
"Ah. .huh. ." Coughed Soniya
I think that's enough ointment JeejuSa" teasing him.
Suddenly Sidni moved away from each other.
"Woh mein... woh mein..."
Sidharth was lost for words as he looked back at Roshni, who was red with embarrassment.
Soniya pulled Rahul closer and whispered
"Baby. ..Kya kaaren in dono ka" sighed Soniya
"Poor Sid, meri behan bohut Ziddi hai. Jaane kab apni dil ki baat ko samjhe gi"
"Hmmm. ...Looks like it's time for us to play Cupid... Roshni ke dil mein, love ka teer ab marna hi parega"
Both looked at each other and smiled mischievously.
