DISCLAIMER: THIS POST IS NOT MEANT TO HURT ANY ACTOR, SHOW, OR FAN, BUT IS SIMPLY A PURELY ANALYTICAL POST! Therefore, I will not mention the names of other shows, but only mention the plots, as I am analyzing plots, not actors or shows. I apologize in advance if this post is hurtful! I am open to discussion and would be happy to reconsider any of my views.
There have been quite a few fans of Jamai Raja who have lately been upset by the fact that Siddharth is still working for the happiness of Roshni, despite the fact that she got married to Neil, and I completely understand the unhappiness that we, as SidNi fans, face. However, we must also take into account that Siddharth is the main character of this show, not Roshni. As the male lead, Jamai Raja is about the ups and downs of Siddharth, the Jamai, not Roshni, the bahu. In a female-centered television world, we see women who constantly wait for men, even though they have an extra-marital affair, women who deal with constant torture from their husband and in-laws, women who continue loving and praying for their husbands despite his distrust on their characters. As a male-centered show, now a man's suffering is shown. Why is it that, as a society, we are okay with watching shows that have a woman suffering, but when a man suffers, it creates such unrest among a fan following? Jamai Raja is a progressive show, and it is displaying Siddharth's point of view.
As a loyal fan of Jamai Raja, SidNi, and NiVi, I would like to make the people of the forum reconsider their views of Siddharth's "mahanta," and compare it to other shows that you may be watching. If a woman can be in pain for a man's happiness, why can't the man? Wasn't this the whole concept of Jamai Raja, that if a woman could take the responsibility of the household, why can't the man?
As I have stated earlier, I am open to discussion, so please do comment your views below.
Humbly,
Roshni
