Bilkul sahi kaha Raj Bhai, esp the bolded part 👏 Kahan Bade Sagarji ka bhakti aur gyan bhare, poori tarah se research kiye hue Ramayan aur Shri Krishna, aur kahan unke bachchon ke yeh naye Puran! They inherited his gift of choosing perfect actors and actresses like Dhriti and Aditi, but not his dedication because of which his programs were so accurate rather than their fairy-tales and his devotion, because of which each character became a treasure-house of lessons for the viewers to learn from.
They wanted to give us something "fresh", so they turned away from the perfect, banaa-banaaya script of the old classic versions and wrote their own trash - there was Devi Sita slapping a Rakshasi in NDTV, then they had Vasudev running around behind Kans in Mathura's palace with a sword in hand. Under Senior Sagarji's direction, both these characters were worthy of worship because of the patience and devotion they demonstrated despite unbearably sad circumstances - the "modern" Sagars tried to "improve" and gave us "modern" versions of these sacred personalities, who got angry and violent like us and give us an excuse to continue like that - not like in the older, purer Sagar shows in which the same characters taught us how we should behave, by being patience and selflessness personified. Same with having Yashoda Maiya run away with Krishna, they turned her into a picture of attachment and delusion, moh-maya, instead of the embodiment of selfless love she truly was!
What will the younger viewers of today, who didn't get a chance to watch the old classics and only have these new masala-filled versions to believe, think of their scriptures and the values their dharm promotes! they will watch these shows and learn what, if the junior Sagars come out with such trainwreck shows that they claim are representations of our epics!
so, having said that, I don't feel bad for the sagars about jsk's end bcuz its their fault for churning out nonsense. I do feel bad for the perfect actors they've found; I sincerely hope that we can see Aditi, Zaib, Dhriti, and Meghan in other shows -hopefully higher quality mythos - because they have real talent worthy of real stories! even this little Meera they've found - she another adorable prodigy of a child actress! but you're right Sita, that show is already showing signs of downfall because of the silly soap opera storylines that these Sagars are forcing into it. As a result, another super gifted young actress will go to waste bcuz audiences will stop putting up with their masala-mythos.
in response to the title of the thread, this is my appeal to colors: Colors, for your own sake, bring back JSK. If you want to suffer the way 9x did when they took on KHMK, go ahead with what you're doing. I don't care, I'll just watch the old classics over and over cuz they never get old for me - but you will lose out on ratings and genuine viewer appreciation.
my appeal to Sagars: Quit making up your own nautanki Krishna katha, follow the perfect readymade script your revered father had written, and give us our show back! You are losing money and fans because of your "chaalaaki" of dragging stories out (or shrinking them into nothing when they're actually important) for money, and your twisted interpretations of scriptural heros and heroines are giving young viewers wrong ideas! you have dedicated fans in all of us who will petition long and hard so that your show comes back on air, but you will have to make it worthwhile by putting in the kind of devotion and dedication your father did! you found the perfect cast, now write/follow the perfect script and bring us a perfect show!
