Devi Durga comes dressed as a distinguished village lady, with nandi, and vringi in tail, their hands full of tasty culinary preparations. She calls Sunayana, and starts talking In allegorical tunes. Sunayana cannot understand who she is, she becomes rude to her momentarily but soon recovers and asks who she is and what she wants. Devi tells her that she is the Mausi of Shridhar, who resides in TRIKUT, PRAVAT PUR. She hasn't visited them ever since Sunayana got married , that is why Sunayana does not know her. She gives her all the food items, and prepares to leave blessing Sunayana that she will come whenever Sunayana will call her with full devotion.
Follower watches this from behind and suspects something. While everyone else takes the food, he refuses that in the name of his lord and makes Sunayana pack that food. Then he offers her a poisonous tablet . Sunayana refuses to eat before her husband, he threatens her with curse and forces Sunayana to eat.
Shridhar and kakaji priest comes and Sunayana tells them all about his aunt. Shridhar is confused, and then Sunayana gives details of every story. They feel blessed as kakaji tells surely it has been Devi Maa who came there to save her.
Back in the cave of Bhairavnath, the entire saint dressed people wriggle in pain from consuming that heavenly food and only follower is not affected, he says that he did not have a morsel and further informs that he made Sunayana eat poison. Bhairavnath challenges goddess to make Sunayana well.
Sunayana is wriggling in pain and the village doctor says it's a women's disease and they should consult a woman physician. The lady examines Sunayana and tells that she has taken up something poisonous and it may harm her so much that she may never have a child.
Shridhar breaks down and kakaji consoles him and asks him to have faith.
Sunayana comes to take part in the village worship, when all the ladies, including her sister in law kusum rebuke her, call her unlucky, a woman without child, that her face will bring evil to their children. a crying Sunayana leaves. She is further assaulted when comes to fetch water and everyone brand her unlucky shameless woman. She cannot take it anymore and runs to the temple and cries and prays there. Everyone tries to bring her down, they drag her to ground, every time lead by her sister. Crying and praying Sunayana faints.
