The week 50 ratings from TAM Media Research are here. In the second week of normal programming for the Hindi general entertainment channels, data suggests that the new shows have managed decent opening numbers.

Star Plus continues its ride on the top with 272 GRPs. The newcomer 'Aap ki Kachehri' has managed to retain an average of 3 plus TRP (3.52) for this week as well.

Colors takes the next spot with 235 GRPs. Of two new fiction shows that replaced 'Bigg Boss', 'Uttaran' has become the third highest rated show on the channel beaten by none other than the regular deliverers 'Balika Vadhu' and 'Jai Shri Krishna'. 'Uttaran', arguably a regressive milieu again with a child protagonist, has managed a 3 plus TRP for the week. The other two new weekend shows on the channel 'Chhote Miya' and 'Dancing Queen' that debuted on December 12 and 13 have also managed to stay around the 2 TRP mark.

With a 194 GRPs, Zee TV was the third highest watched Hindi GEC last week. Zee TV too has been very busy with new shows. Some of the new shows that 'Choti Bahu', 'Dance India Dance', and the soon-to-be launched 'Shree', 'Maa' and 'Monica Mogre'.

Following these, Sony has secured 90 GRPs in week 50, and Star One has 81 GRPs. NDTV Imagine has 64 GRPs.

Even though 9X has only been airing repeats on the channel despite the strike being called off, the channel is managing a 49 GRPs. Sahara One has 47 GRPs and SAB has 44 GRPs.

Why does that make it a flop?😕

TRP's do not refer to the quality of the show; but the number of views it gets on any given day.

Give the show some time, it'll pick up soon.😛
